Julius Caesar, Emperor of Rome - Refreshing Citrus Scent
Julius Caesar (also known as Gaius Julius Caesar) was a Roman military and political leader (79 - 44BC). In 49 BC, towards the end of his career, he sought to gain legal leadership and began a civil war. As a result of this war he became the undisputed master of the Roman world, and was proclaimed dictator for life - "dictator perpetuus". After assuming control he began extensive reforms of Roman society and government, centralized the bureaucracy of the Republic, and offered generous support to neighboring nations in their own struggles. He is recognized for his policy of clemency, and noble battle etiquette. Two years after Caesar's death, the Senate officially sanctified Caesar as one of the Roman deities.
