Dissolve 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team®* Borax and 1-2 tablespoons of detergent in a basin of warm water. Soak delicates for 10 minutes, then rinse in clear, cold water. Blot items with a towel and lay flat to dry.

My two cats & I were being eaten alive by fleas from the nieghbors cat...a colleague with lots of animals asked if I had heard of 20 Mule Team Borax. Of course, I said but not in years. She told me it was an inexpensive remedy for the problem. Boy, was she right! I sprinkled it on the carpets and furniture. I climbed in the bed and watched the fleas attempt to jump out of the carpet... Later I vacuummed all areas. NO FLEAS! For a saftey measure, I repeated and vacuumed the next day! NO FLEAS ~ must have gotten the eggs, too! NEVER a Flea AGAIN! I keep a box on hand...

It does exactly what it says: it "boosts" the laundry detergent/soap in a wash load. It is non-allergenic. Sometimes I have had a lump of undissolved product in a load of laundry which can be very frustrating when done in a dark clothing load.

I use borax along with super washing soda and laundry bar soap to make my own powder laundry detergent. I've been very happy with the results and can not see going back to Tide. I plan to start using it in some homemade cleaning products for the rest of my home.

Many uses for this great product - I dump about 1/2 cup in the laundry for a brighter clean without bleach or expensive brighteners. For stains on carpet, make a little paste of white distilled vinegar & Borax, apply to the stain and let it dry completely. Then vacuum it up and the stain is gone!!

Unfortunately I have discovered Mites, from a bird nest on the side of the house next to my bedroom and now in my bedroom and in my clothes so I went online to see what is suggested to wash my clothes safely to kill the mites and it was Borax. So far it has worked "Great" don't know why or how exactly but it works. Very Happy Customer, Thanks for the fast delivery.

Homemade Laundry Soap 1/3 bar Fels Naptha ½ cup washing soda 2 gallons of hot water ½ cup borax powder ~You will also need a small bucket with a lid, about 2.5 gallon size~
Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Now add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of hot water and stir. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. You use ½ cup per load.

I use Borax for everything from adding to laundry, soaking stains, to cleaning bathrooms and shampooing carpets; also, general household cleaning. The product is easy to use and has great cleaning tips on how to use Borax. The only small trouble about Borax is that it tends to make hard clumps and you have to break them up to dissolve.
Regular Wash - Add 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team®* Borax to each wash load along with the recommended amount of detergent. For large capacity machines add 3/4 cup. For front-loading machines use 1/2 cup.
Pre-soaking Stains - Add one tablespoon of 20 Mule Team®* Borax per gallon of water or 1/2 cup in washer. Pre-soak for at least 30 minutes before washing.
For Cleaning:
Cleaning Cookware - 20 Mule Team®* Borax is a mild and gentle cleaner for porcelain and aluminum cookware. Sprinkle 20 Mule Team®* Borax on pots and pans as you would a dry cleanser and rub with a damp dishcloth. No need to worry about scratching, Borax is not abrasive. Rinse thoroughly.
Carpet Spills and Stains - For problem wet areas, blot up spill, sprinkle on 20 Mule Team®* Borax to cover area, let dry and vacuum. For problem stains try the "wine and alcohol stains" directions included.
Wine and Alcohol Stains - Dissolve 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team®* Borax in a pint of water. Sponge in the solution, wait 1/2 hour, then shampoo the spotted area. Let dry and vacuum. These stains are touch ones and your changes of success are better the sooner you treat them.
For Deodorizing:
Garbage Disposals - 20 Mule Team®* Borax Laundry Booster helps deodorize food waste disposals by neutralizing acidic odors. Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons in the drain, let it stand for at least 15 minutes, then flush with water for a few seconds with the disposal on. This treatment can also be used in your regular sink drains.
Mattress Odors - Urine odors from mattresses and mattress covers may be neutralized by dampening the spot and sprinkling 20 Mule Team®* Borax over it. Rub the 20 Mule Team®* Borax into the areas and let dry. Brush or vacuum to remove the dry borax.
Pet Urine and Sour Spilled Milk Odors - Use the same procedure as listed for mattress odors.
