I haven't had frequent coldsores (5-6 times a year) like a lot of people, but I received my first one as a kid..then twice as a teen (14-16) and now this is my second time this year at 22.I have to say it is completely EMBARASSING to have a cold sore especially if you are in college like me and work in a place where people are constantly in your face.I was working when I felt that the lower corner of my lip was bruising..I thought maybe I had cut it while eating some chips. But after work when I looked in my car mirror...I saw two small pimply white dotted bumps beginning to cluster up on me. So I came here and read the reviews and Unlike most of the people here, I have no idea when I'm going to get one..my mouth does not tingle like everyone elses. Therefore when most of the reveiwers said abreva wasnt as good if your sore broke the skin i instantly became deterred. However, I had no other choices so I picked it up anyway. And Might I add its [$].I began rubbing abreva on every 1-2 hours (a very small amount) and icing the sore in between (I hear it helps too) and needless to say..my sore went away in maybe 3 days. I couldnt believe it..the last coldsore I had lasted almost 2 weeks and it looked horrible and deformed I even missed classes because of it and wore a bandaid. (It sat off to the side of my lip)I'd like to add that during the three days..my sore didnt get any worse then what it was when I found it..it did not form into a monster it just blended with my skin until it began to heal..I even went out completely unphased by it. NO ONE noticed it...I am so a believer of abreva now, and if you find yourself in the boat I was in..just make sure you apply often (to be safe) and ice it 3 times a day as well..(until the icecube melts). Abreva is great and even thought its small it helped me greatly however, I think icing it made it work even better.4 out of 5 because it did cost me [$] and the tube is really small.

Before i used Abreva, i recall how i use to get full blown cold sores that i just couldn't anything about. My research led me to buy Lysine tablets, and Abreva. Well i took a daily tablet of 1000mg Lysine and made sure to keep my face away from the sun or exposure of cold wind. The thing is I'm an athlete and i ve been running cold mornings and work out constantly. I guess that led to stress, because one morning i got a red blemish right under my nose. HUGH!! I applied abreva and doubled my Lysine intake. The cold sore never totally blew out to a blistering mess. Instead i had a really noticeable red blemish that still made me feel uncomfortable about. This continued for 9 days. I had high hopes that my steps would even prevent a cold sore from forming but it did not. Oh well, i will still continue to buy until i find something better.

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

This product is such a waste of money. I tried it EXACTLY as instructed and it did nothing. Then I got some real help - my doctor gave me a prescription for Zovirax cream. This is the only product that helped with that itching and burning sensation. This last time I used the Zovirax cream my cold sore disappeared in 3 days, much faster than the Abreva- which did nothing for the itching and burning. Don't waste your money, ask your doctor for a prescription. You'll be money ahead.

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

I got a fever blister the day before my 10-year class reunion. I shelled out the money for this stuff, cause I heard it was the best. IT DOES NOT WORK! It has made the problem even worse. My lip swelled up to that of a circus carnie and 4 days later, I am still getting blisters. I have never had it bleed, and now since I have used this product, my lips are bleeding and it is extremely painful. Don't waste your money, cause in some cases it will just make it worse.

This product does NOT work. Maybe for those who have tiny little sores that are hardly worth mentioning in the first place, but for me, they are large and extremely painful, and I don't get just one at a time, now I have three on my bottom lip alone. I shelled out the cash to try it, now I wish I had stuck with my old stand-by, at first sign, poke and drain and slather on the Neosporin ointment like lip gloss. I wish I could give it less than 1 star.

I bought this product the last time I started to get a cold sore and it has such rapid results! It is kind of pricey, and at first I was shocked at the small size of the tube for the price. But, I can honestly say that this product is superb and well worth the cost. It immediately starts working and you use so little of the product. A definite 5 star rating!! So, if you start getting a cold sore or already have one and want to get rid of it fast...buy this product and you'll be amazed!

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

I have had cold sores all of my life, even on my wedding day. This week I again had cold sores and its my 33rd wedding Anniversary. I bought this wonderful medication and it's taken the cold sore away in just 5 days. I am so thankful for this medication. I have a life now. I don't feel ugly and afraid to go out now. Cold sores aren't fun. They hurt and they look terrible. Three cheers for my new found cold sore medication.

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

This product works great. I'm not sure why it has received relatively low commentaries. You should definitely follow the directions very precisely in order to get good results. It has ingredients that moisturize and sort of disguise the cold sore. In addition, it decreases healing time. Don't expect miracles; it is not a cure- there is no cure. But it does relieve the pain and prevents blisters from bursting. Always wash your hands before and after applying, and never touch any other parts of your mouth or face or body after applying Abreva. Duh!

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

This overpriced product did not help AT ALL... I actually think my cold sores were worse after applying. I'd rather just use Carmex. At least I know that was helping my cold sores to heal, even if it couldn't help prevent it.

Comments about Abreva Cold Sore/Fever Blister Treatment, .07 oz:

Abreva is the only product on the market that actually works. I've used it for probably 20 cold sores so far. It stops healthy cells from getting infected, so the cold sore is smaller than it would be otherwise, and heals much faster: For me, cold sores used to heal in 2 weeks, now they heal in 5-6 days. Sure, they seem to get bigger after I first put it on, because those cells were already infected to begin with; but when I use it as directed the whole week it makes all the difference in the world. Don't give up; this stuff has been worth every single penny I pay for it. Now all we need is a cure.

I began treatment with this product upon the very first tingle, two hours later my cold sore had swollen to the size of a dime. Now, two days later- the monster cold sore remains with all symptoms still intact. I regretfully purchased this product for the last time.
