People with nerve or circulatory problems unless prescribed by a physician. Do not apply heat to broken and/or sensitive skin. Heat should not be used with external analgesic products. Do not apply compress without placing gel-pack inside bandage. Do not exceed heating time specified in heating schedule. Do not sit or lean on compress. Excessive heating or weight may cause pack to rupture and leak. If condition persists, consult your physician.
Cold compress therapy should not be used by individuals with known or suspected circulation problems, unless under the direct supervision of a physician.

I wanted this for a swollen knee. I thought I would be able to secure it to my knee, but if you don't have a really skinny leg it won't fit. I sit and prop my leg up and lay it on top so that's okay but it doesn't cover as much area. I wanted something that could be secured. It's the design rather than the effectiveness I don't like.

I actually keep mine in the freezer. It doesn't freeze, which is good. It gets very cold and stay pliable which is one reason I like it better than ice-packs. I use cold applications on my arthritis to reduce inflammation. For muscle aches, it can be used warm, by putting it in the microwave, although I haven't used it that way. It helps me to cut down on the amount of anti-inflammatory medications I take which are not good for the kidneys. I keep 4 or 5 of them in my freezer to "rotate". I also like the fact it comes with a cover so I don't have to wrap one of my towels around it.

I have used this product approx 5 times a week since 2005 and the old one finally wore out. I was using it as a cold pack, seldom a heated pack. It is cold and long lasting, and the right temperature for me to use on headaches and muscle aches. You can't beat the value.

I have rambunctious 8-year-old twin boys who are constantly whacking their shins and other body parts! This product helps cool the area, without the hardness and inconvenience of ice packs. I recommend it.

Works well frozen and works well heated. In spite of the instructions, I have put it from the freezer into the microwave with no problem. I leave a few in the freezer just to have them ready for repetitive stress injury pain. You definitely need the sleeve it comes in. Without it, next to your skin is too cold.
Care Instructions: Remove gel-pack, wash bandage in lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. As with any fine fabric, keep away from heat. Return gel-pack to bandage pocket upon completion of drying.
