I am 40 years old, and acne was a foe I thought I had left behind (my skin is pretty normal, not oily or dry). For me, this product was drying for the skin around the pimple, but had little effectiveness on my white and black heads after using for 3 weeks. Yet another product that I had high hopes for, but didn't work for me.

This is one of the best adult acne products that I have ever used. I am 62 years old and have had acne since I was a teen. I love this product.

I didn't see complete overnight results like other users, but I did notice that it helps the acne from coming back. It definitely stopped the breakouts, and really helps with blackheads!!!

I would buy this again, and I have recommended it to others to try. I would suggest if benzoyl peroxide isn't working then switch to this. Our skin tends to get use to products so it is always good to switch it up every 3 months or so. It is a lot smarter than we think :)

It did make my skin peel....which is a horrible look, but it is due to the resorcinol since it is a peeling agent. I would make sure to use it only at night and during the day something really moisturizing plus an SPF, but make sure you don't get a moisturizer and SPF in one....not effective!

If you do start this treatment, I would suggest a cream yo can purchase on this website called CeraVe, a night time lotion that has niacinamide, cermacide, and hyaluronic acid. It helped me with the dryness that the Acnevir may have caused.

Serious about the SPF though!!! Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide! Trust me, i am an esthetician and most if not all of my clients have acne or some sort of breakouts.

I like this product. If you haven't had success with the regular acne products; try this. Sulfur is the active ingredient and seems to be very effective.

This product worked amazingly well on my skin - for about 2 days. After that I started having clogged pores and new blemishes starting, and this was because the gel formulation of the product actually left a film on my skin that ended up causing me problems. I actually would love to have the active ingredients of this product in a cream or liquid formulation that does not sit on the surface of the skin like this does!

I have tried SO many products in my many years of fighting acne... BP, salicylic acid, proactiv, zeno, neutrogena, masks, cleansers for sensitive skin, ones for acne-prone skin, moisturizing, not moisturizing, being kind to my face, not being kind to my face, wearing makeup, not wearing it, Clinique, accutane, etc., etc.... you get the picture. I'm 37, and got tired of dealing with my acne about 20 years ago - and have been battling it off and on for that entire time! The severity of it definitely varies, as does WHERE it is targeting my face and sometimes my back and chest area. For a long time, I had success with BP, but, for whatever reason, that doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore.

I just got this product in the mail yesterday, used it before bedtime, and HONESTLY noticed a positive difference this morning!! GREAT! I'm pretty sure I can attribute that to the sulfur in the product, esp. since I have tried the BP and salicylic acid by itself. I believe the sulfur contributes to an "odd" smell, but its not overwhelming. And, since I have been fighting the acne battle for so long, I would try just about anything on my face if it got rid of the acne.... Used it again this AM, and am thinking of just trying it at night. So far, so good, I just hope it continues to work effectively!

Started getting cystic acne on my cheeks after using a 20% salicylic acid gel and benzoyl peroxide was taking too long to work so I tried this and it worked! Does dry out your skin so moisturize, moisturize.

I normally do not write reviews but I had to for this product. It works really well for cystic acne and hormonal acne. Every time I feel a large painful zit coming on I use this stuff immediately and it works like a charm. I get a lot of hormonal breakouts on my chin and they generally tend to be the big zits that last for a good week or so. Acenvir really works to reduce them in size and actually stop the large cystic zits from forming. I've tried so many OTC ace products but this by far the best one I have ever used.

OK, so it's not a miracle drug, but it is pretty darn close to being one. Four years ago I suddenly developed adult cystic acne around my chin area. These would start under the skin and blossom into large painful acne that eventually produced pus. Not only did they look painful, they actually felt painful. As soon as one flare-up was ending, another set of large painful acne would emerge. As someone who did not have a lot of teenage skin issues, I was at a complete loss on how to deal with my new adult problem. I was prescribed DUAC by my doctor, and it provided some relief, but not enough. Acnevir, on the other hand, has been significantly better than anything I've ever used. I use it for spot treatment, and it shrinks growing cystic acne before they become full-blown uglies. Even when I've done the unthinkable and squeezed a zit, Acnevir will reduce the inflammation overnight and prevent the re-infection that always follows after a squeezing. It has a slight smell of sulphur, but who cares...it does the job!
