You don't need much, use it fast. I sprayed for about 1 sec. total moving over my face. Follow the 8-10 in away. The tip is just do a quick light mist. Worked out to a beautiful glow for me. No getting in hair, I had on a light grey sweatshirt. Spray too much and I can see how it can get all over. When my husband got home he thought I had been out in the sun for just a bit.

Shake - Shake your aerobrush can well before each and every use. If makeup looks too watery or too thick, continue shaking can until it sprays smooth and creamy.
Aim - Hold can 10" from face or body. Close your eyes and hold your aerobrush can about 10" from your skin. Image you are misting yourself with water.
Spray - Evenly mist onto skin for true aerosol airbrush application & aerobrush perfection. Use a small, zip-zap movement for best results. Press nozzle down completely when spraying to avoid larger makeup dots.
