I am severely allergic to insect bites and this is the only product I've found that can prevent severe itching. It sometimes prevents any reaction as long as I apply it immediately after I get a bite. I keep one in my purse, one at work and one at home. It smells and can sting but it's benefits more than outweigh it's cons. However, the product only stings for a minute or two making it only effective to people who don't mind reapplying it several times a day. This is the only product that stops the swelling. You have to have it with you and apply immediately, and may take several applications. But, I have used baking soda poltices, hydrocortizen, benydryl creams and many other remidies. This is what I keep in my purse or on my person!
