I had recently purchased Airborne (never tried them before) and I decided to take one at the first sign of my sniffles and sore throat, and with-in 2 hours I felt way better. I took another about 4 hours later just to be sure, and my cold hasn't returned (it's been 3 weeks). I'm going to place an order for more today. I wish I would have tried this stuff years ago. I googled it trying to find information as to its ingredients. The company site told me very little, but it offered a free sample by mail. I filled out the form, but never received my sample. I filled it out again and still didn't receive my sample. Then it was on sale at one of the health/vitamin outlets I shop at so I bought some. First time I took it was to prevent a cold. You could say it worked, b/c I didn't get a cold. I only took one tab. Second time I took it was a year later, I had a bad cold, so I took the maximum, which is 3 tabs that day. Next day I woke up itching, but my runny nose had stopped and I was stuffed up, which meant cold was going away. Then I took another tab that morning and by evening, I was scratching myself like mad, because I had full blown hives. The "proprietary blend" of mysterious herbs can be dangerous!!!I did some more research and found some information on [@], where one person suggested that why Airborne works is not because of the vitamins or herbs, but because of the BAKING SODA or sodium bicarbonate. This person takes 1/4-1/2 tsp. of baking soda 3X a day to ward off a cold and it works. So next time I'm going to try that, add some Emergen-C or take an acerola tab for vitamin C, then eat a huge portion of broccoli and double up on my daily multis!!I also just discovered that this company was sued for false advertising. You could supposedly get your money back, up to $15 if you bought Airborne on the assumption that it can prevent or "cure" (the big no-no word that gets companies in trouble w/FDA) a cold. My favorite is the pink grapefruit. I find the original orange to be pretty gross. What I usually do is dissolve it in water, and then add a bit of orange juice at the end to make it a bit more appealing. But if necessary I can also drink it plain (only the pink grapefruit though - not the orange). Pros

I stock up & keep one in my purse, one in my suitcase, one at work, one in the medicine cabinet at home. Pink grapefruit is better tasting than the other flavors. Airborne does work. I too thought it was just a fad, and then I remembered how popular it was with the business types that always come through my checkout lane at my night job. So I bought a sample packet with one tablet. Took it in the afternoon at my desk and went to my night job feeling just fine. Now that it's winter, I take this regularly to ward off colds and the flu. I had a mild cold this weekend, and I'm already better. I didn't get the usual fever, and my stuffiness was more tolerable. Bottom line: take Airborne as directed, practice good health habits like water drinking and hand washing, and feel healthy this cold season. Plus, Airborne, unlike Echinacea and other herbs, will not cause adverse effects in people taking prescribed medications. (Original & Lemon-Lime sometimes upset my stomach, but no problems with pink grapefruit. Haven't tried Apple yet.) I haven't had a full-blown cold/flu in 9 years. Nothing more than a slight fever and a wooly-head for a day or two. And, in the past 20 months, I've been in a HOT ZONE: I now work in proximity of 3 parents of small children who pick up every "thing" that goes around.
