It was used to take off stage make up - and the light bulb went on in my head! I've used it for 40 years. I use it on my face, my neck, on my hands under work gloves, on my legs - and everywhere else. I have a small container - a travel size- in my purse at all times to apply around my eyes. My mother has been using Albolene Cream to remove her makeup and moisturize her skin for over 40 years. Just recently she had an allergic reaction to it -- intense itching, flaking and redness, around her eyes, on her neck and chest area. Her skin looked terribly blistered and parched. She went to the doctor twice and has been on several medications, one containing steroids. Prior to this bad experience, she thought Albolene Cream was the best thing she had ever used. I have spent LOTS and LOTS of $$ for high-end luxury cleansers and have found none better than this. My skin is very dry and this product leaves my skin feeling silky and smooth after cleansing. I dream of youth again! I have very sensitive and dry skin and have longed for such a cleanser. I cannot recommend this enough. Thank goodness for the golden oldies like Albolene! I've been using this product for 55 years and the quality is still the same. It has helped me through many eczema outbreaks. I use it first on my eye makeup (eye liner and mascara) and then on the rest of my face to remove the rest of my makeup (base, powder, blush) and tissue it off. I removes all makeup super easily and gently. I always prefer washing my face after removing my makeup, so I use Este Lauder Splash Away Foaming Facial Wash, but I've used other brands as well like Oil of Olay, and the results are a squeeky clean, soft face. I've tried other very expensive makeup removers and none of them remove makeup as quickly and easily as this does. I would hightly recommend Albolene. I hope they never discontinue this product. When I was about 40 Mary Kay discontinued their liquifying cleansing cream. I searched for another liquifying cleanser and finally found Albolene!!! I have now been using Albolene for 25 years. I have the facial skin of a 40 year old and I know it's because I clean my face every night with Albolene. I have never gone to bed with makeup on, ever... I have used nothing else now for over 40 years! I have tried a few other products, but always come right back to Albolene. It is perfect for mascara removal. No rubbing or tugging at sensitive skin around the eyes.Albolene liquifies and mascara comes off with a gentle swipe.
