Granted, the small amount of massaging to apply the creme may help a bit, but I have tried professional massage and even that doesn't relieve the pain like this product. I also use it on on painful joints: neck, knees toes elbows. It always works. The only thing that even comes close to the pain relieving ability of this product is Tiger Balm. It is very difficult to use Tiger Balm and not turn heads everywhere you go, though! This product has a very pleasant, light fragrance that is not overpowering. Excellent for both large and small joint pain and also superficial and deep muscle pain. Great for those of us who cannot tolerate oral antiinflammatories because of stomach issues.
