Chemical Name: FEXOFENADINE (fex-oh-FEN-a-deen)
Allegra 60mg is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies such as runny or itchy nose; sneezing; itchy throat; and watery, itchy, or red eyes. Allegra 60mg may also be used to treat hives or other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Allegra 60mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking erythromycin or ketoconazole. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including kidney problems, difficulty urinating, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Allegra 60mg.
Follow the directions for using Allegra 60mg provided by your doctor. Allegra 60mg may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. TAKE ALLEGRA 60mg WITH water. Do not drink fruit juice at the same time that you take Allegra 60mg. Certain fruit juices (eg, grapefruit, apple, orange) may decrease Allegra 60mg's effectiveness. If you take antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium, do not take them at the same time as Allegra 60mg. Ask your doctor or pharmacist how to take them with Allegra 60mg. STORE ALLEGRA 60mg at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF ALLEGRA 60mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT TAKE ALLEGRA 60mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Allegra 60mg for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. ALLEGRA 60mg MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS. ALLEGRA 60mg DOES NOT USUALLY CAUSE DROWSINESS when used under normal circumstances at the recommended doses. HOWEVER, DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Allegra 60mg. Using Allegra 60mg alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines containing additional antihistamines. ALLEGRA 60mg MAY INTERFERE with allergy test results. Check with your doctor for instruction on how long you will need to stop taking Allegra 60mg prior to those tests. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING ALLEGRA 60mg IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of Allegra 60mg. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and the risks of using Allegra 60mg during pregnancy. ALLEGRA 60mg IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while using Allegra 60mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include stomach upset, dizziness, or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience fever, earache, or severe or persistent coughing or vomiting. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Allegra 60mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual or severe drowsiness, dizziness, or dry mouth.
If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, contact your doctor. DO NOT SHARE ALLEGRA 60mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE ALLEGRA 60mg for other health conditions. KEEP ALLEGRA 60mg out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING ALLEGRA 60mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
