Indications
Temporarily relieves these symptoms due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies:
runny nose
sneezing
itchy, watery eyes
nasal congestion
itching of nose or throat
Warnings
Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you not know if your prescription drug contains MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Ask a doctor before use if you have
heart disease
thyroid disease
high blood pressure
diabetes
glaucoma
trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland
a breathing problem such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking sedatives or tranquilizers.
When using this product
do not use more than directed
drowsiness may occur
avoid alcoholic drinks
excitability may occur, especially in children
alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase drowsiness effect
be careful when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery
Stop use and ask a doctor if you get nervous, dizzy, or sleepless; Symptoms do not get better in 7 days or are accompanied with a fever.
If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

This product has been on the market for at least 40 years that I remember, and needs to be more available. The old remedies have been tried and tested over the years, and this one needs the recognition it deserves! If there are side effects they are minimal, a person can feel free to use this product without reservation. With all the newer, more dangerous and side effect laden products out there, Allerest has taken a back seat it doesn't deserve!

This is what my son takes for allergies, works really well, better than anything else he has tried. Especially as this is a bad year for allergies in Texas.

I first tried Allerest over three decades ago and based on it's great effectiveness for all my sinus related problems I have continued to seek it out for use when in need since then. It is a great product and it is shameful that it is not readilly available in stores as a non-prescription drug but has to be ordered specially.

I have never found an allergy medicine that works as good as Allerest. I have had allergies and asthma my whole life, and this stuff works! Its also great I can take it day or night, and it doesn't affect me. Thank goodness for Drugstore.com because you cannot find it in stores anymore.

Allerest seems to work best for my husband with allergies to cats and outdoor pollens and grasses. It is hard to find locally. Thinking it is inexpensive and finding he is taking 4-6 per day, a box of 24 may only last a week or little more

I used Allerest back in the '50s,started out with a whole pill then to 1/2 pill then cut that in half to 1/4 pill. Over the years my allergies slowley disapeared.I have not had Allerest since about the mid '70s. With the help of allergy 'shots' I have no need for Allerest these days although I now have mild food allergies which back in the '40s there was no skin test for.I do not take "shots"anymore either.

None of the BIG CHAINS/Drugstores sell it anymore ~ I have looked for years . .they want you to take the 24 hour brands. I don't need it that long, or that often!! So glad I found it online:)

Allerest works where other things do not for me. I've tried them all. This one works like a medication taken off the market that also contained chlorpheniramine malleate. The unfortunate side-effect is sleepiness, which is enhanced by the other medications I'm taking, but I'm willing to put up with it. I'm so glad I found it at drugstore.com as I haven't been able to find Allerest in any of my local stores.

Used to buy it locally but can't find it anywhere now except on line. Thank goodness I can still get it. I do not recommend any meds to friends. It works fo me, but I don't know how it will work for someon else. This is why I will not say I recommend it.
