When I started wearing it a few of my friends would ask what I used because the color is very dark; I use the black, I have blonde hair and dark features with pale skin, the black stands out but fits in with my already-black lashes. The color goes on smooth, it doesn't clump and you do not need to keep running over the applyed area to make it dark. I use a thinner line that gets thick at the outer edges and to make it reach my lashes at the corners of my eyes I use two sweeps. I wouldn't reccomend this for somewhere where you will get your face wet. If you get it wet, as it says on the packaging it will not run, and it doesn't. And if you touch it, as it calls, it will not smear across your face, but it will lighten the color depending on how hard you brush across it. But if it is wet and you wipe it, as if you got water on it to brush it off, it will come off... But as long as you wipe all the water off it will all come off cleanly, so it will not leave residue across your face. But this also makes clean up easy. When I wash my face I rise it off to get as much makeup off as I can before I start with soaps and it all comes off in no time at all. It's very convinent and I don't plan on using anything else for sometime. I hope they never discontinue this product. Comments about Almay Liquid Line Eyeliner, Black 221, .1 fl oz: I've been using this liquid liner for years to create a simple line above the lid, or a more intense cat's eye. You must shake the bottle well before applying or it goes on thin. The black shade is well pigmented, but not super intense like Kat Von D or Dior. For the low price point, it's my every day, can't live without liquid liner. I use a separate eye liner brush for even application, and just run it along the applicator that comes with it. Pros

It's not waterproof so it doesn't hold up from sweating, but for me it stays on well into the 12 hour range. The tip is perfect for a thin line, or just press harder for a thnker line. Once the liquid drys it won't smudge. Pros

However, after everyday use, the brush stops being as thin and becomes much harder to apply an even line. This is my second one of this eyeliner, only because I haven't found one better yet. It last longer than any other liquid eyeliner I've ever used AND it's bold. It doesn't fade or blend into my eyeshadow. It doesn't smear on my upper eyelid (unless I am profusely sweating)! Love it and highly recommend it!
