In 1912, Harry Brown & J.C. Haley founded Brown & Haley in Tacoma, Washington. They soon created Almond Roca Buttercrunch, blending premium California almonds with fresh local butter for a delightful taste sensation.
Word of this great tasting confection quickly spread to San Francisco, Chicago and other parts of the United States. During WW II, American troops carried "the pink tin" overseas. Today, Almond Roca Buttercrunch is a worlwide favorite — still manufactured in our home twon, a short walk from the original factory.
100 years later, Almond Roca Buttercrunch has become an icon of the Pacific Northwest. We are proud to share the stage with other landmarks such as the Space Needle, Pike's Place Market, the Museum of Glass and the Lemay — America's Car Museum.
