Every morning, while in the shower, I wash my face with Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash (also a fantastic product.) Sometimes I follow that up with a toner but not always (it depends, but when I do chose to use it, I like using Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner.) Then I tap on an all over eye product (DHC Eye Bright is a good one but so far it has not been made available from this site.) I follow that up with Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion (a pea-sized drop is enough to do your whole face so one bottle of this product will last you forever!) I finish off with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock (anything over SPF 30 is a waste of time.)

I've been using Alpha Hydrox products on and off since I first discovered the label in my early 20's (some umpteen years ago.) It's been hard to find OTC in my area going on a decade now, which accounts for the usually short "off" time in between uses, so I have to order it. That's a bit of a pain but well worth the effort.

I'm a bargain shopper which means I hate to waste my money on name products that over state what they're capable of doing. I keep up-to-date and I've done my research on other products pushing themselves as having AHA (usually 1 to 2%) but they are LACKING A SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH AMOUNT OF AHA TO DO ANY REAL GOOD. Alpha Hydrox is the only affordable pure 10% Glycolic AHA I have found for purchase without a prescription. It actually does DO what the others only claim to!

ONE WARNING; however, for those who do not know, or have never used products containing proper amounts of Glycolic Acid (AHA) – It's just that, an acid, and it will irritate the skin causing an uncomfortable burning and/or stinging sensation. Initially it will leave your skin looking a bit red, like you've been slapped. Although I never had a problem adapting to this product myself, a friend of mine, whom I turned on to it, started out by applying it only at night. During the day she would blend a little of her foundation in with her SPF to cover the remaining red. She found that to be helpful. At first she was skeptical but she chose to endure, and she's glad she did. Within a few weeks her skin adapted to the sting and the red went away. She's been thanking me ever since =)

The absolute best advice I can give is to 1) Educate yourself, research your products, read labels, and don't be afraid to mix and match, 2) Use SPF year 'round, and 3) Give AH a chance. Eventually (at least in my own personal experience) your skin will appear tighter and brighter, some discolorations will fade or even disappear, lines will become less noticeable .. I'm nearly 40 and I haven't developed a wrinkle yet! .. and your skin will feel so soft you'll want to touch it all the time.
