It's been hard to find OTC in my area going on a decade now, which accounts for the usually short "off" time in between uses, so I have to order it. That's a bit of a pain but well worth the effort. I started using this twice a day along with the oil free lotion in the morning and cream at night. After a week and a half my face started to develop a red bumpy rash all over my forehead and cheeks. I am not sure if it is the cleanser of the lotions but it is drying out my skin and causing an ugly irratation on my skin. I am now going to use it every other day with my cetaphil cream and cleanser and see if the red bumpy rash clears up. I would recommend using this every other day until you can see if your skin is sensetive to it. Comments about Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash, 6 fl oz: This stuff is really making a difference combined with the Alpha Hydroxy 10% cream. I'll be 57 and the crepey wrinkles under my eyes were getting me down. I've read that alpha hydroxy is recommended by dematologists and plastic surgeons to help get rid of dead skin cells and boost collagen. It seems to be working. It takes a little time for the skin to get used to the 'burn', so every other night at first or every third. I now use them both 2X's a day. The price is great!! I don't really have any complaints except if it gets in your eye it burns a lot so just be careful. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate it or dry it out. Comments about Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash, 6 fl oz: The first time I tried this was when I received it free with my AHA Oil-Free Treatment purchase (amazing product, by the way). I hardly ever use another cleanser on my face now. It removes makeup really well, doesn't require a lot per use, and it rinses perfectly clean. The downside is that it dries out the skin around my eyes a lot unless I remove makeup with oil beforehand. It also leaves my face feeling tight, although I don't really think that's a bad thing, as my pores are much too large anyhow. I have outrageously oily, acne-prone skin, and it's hard to find a cleanser that helps my acne products penetrate better, which I believe this cleanser does because it's pH balanced and clean-rinsing. I have never been satisfied with the so-called gentle cleansers (Purpose, Cetaphil, etc) until I tried this one because they left me oily. This is a part of the regimen that finally got my skin clear, and I've been dealing with acne since age 9, now 25. Alpha Hydrox face wash is the absolute best, removes makeup and oil, but does not dry and irritate. Highly recommend for all skin types. Soap leaves my face feeling dry and tight and not clean, but this product leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and it doesn't dry my skin out.
