Alvita. Natural Herb Teas That Are Good For You And The Environment.
For more than 75 years, long before it became fashionable, Alvita was championing the profound health-giving properties of herbal teas. We travel to the far reaches of the globe for the finest herbs, the best growers, the most precious sources.
Small wonder that so many consumers trust the Alvita name. Today, it stands for more than 100 different teas, including classic single herb varieties, and our unique Alvita Blends. The package you hold in our hand combines ancient herbal wisdom with modern traditional science. And brings directly to you all the richness and benefits of herbal teas. This philosophy is the very reason why you will find sensible, English pillow style tea bags that are oxygen bleached. And why you won't find any strings, tags, or staples. We've even developed a new foil package, a recyclable innovation that keeps our tea fresher, longer.
We thank you for choosing our product, but more importantly, we thank you for the trust you've put in the herbal values that we all share.
Often brewed as a coffee substitute, the roots of Dandelion (Taraxacum officionale) can also be used as an ingredient in root beer. The cleaned, raw roots can also be sliced into salads or cooked and added to other vegetables. The taproot is white on the inside and dark brown on the outside and grows up to six inches long. The plant first appeared in the 10th century journals of Arabian physicians. By the 16th century, the British considered Dandelion a valuable herbal plant and it has held a distinguished place among European herbalists for centuries. When the whole plant is used, Dandelion will work as a natural dye and turn a fabric a deep magenta.

Drink this tea everyday morning, afternoon, and evening. At times when I make the 2nd or 3rd glass I'll leave the prior glasses tea bag in there for added flavor and to make my money go further.

I mainly use this tea to relieve PMS symptoms such as body bloated and water weight gain. As far as I know from reading many articles, Dandelion is known for its diuretic ability to return the water that the body retained back to the digestive track. So after I drank the tea I will feel relieve from many PMS symptoms such as breasts tenderness and (not to be too graphics..) I will be more regular. This tea always rescues me from PMS attack. One caveat, I read many articles on the internet that it can cause gastric trouble to sensitive people. I rarely use it for anything else other than relieving PMS but I guess at other time I can use it for a mild laxative.

As far as taste, this tea is not bad if you mix it with Green Tea or another flavor. It's not flavorful and almost resembles the taste of a stick soaked in water. I originally bought this tea to help speed up my metabolism and suppress my appetite for weight loss. But after drinking 1 cup a day for 3 days, I quickly realized that this was not for me. I had severe stomach pains which amounted to a feeling of bloat and unending gas. I had to take anti gas medication to alleviate the pain. So, no more tea for me. I wouldn't recommend it for weight loss at all.
The best way to make a good tasting cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes and remove the bag. Press the bag before removing to enhance flavor.
