This product was recommended to me by my dermatologist years ago for the little bumps I get on the outer part of my upper arms and sometimes on the outer part of my thighs. I tried it shortly after she recommended it and in a few weeks the bumps were gone and sometime after that, I don't recall how long, the red scar like marks they leave behind were also gone. After all these years I'm still using it as a preventative and my arms are smooth and clear. I only apply it to the areas it's needed so it lasts quite awhile. It does not have a great smell so after it dries thoroughly I apply my regular lotion as usual. I've recommended this to countless people, including my cosmetologist and she now recommends it too!!

I purchased Amlactin to treat those little red bumps. I'd used other unrelated products in the past successfully for this purpose (so I know it's possible to get rid of them). I used about 80% of the bottle over about 2+ months before I gave up on it. From my perspective, it was a bad 2 months.

Amlactin has a subtle but distinctly unpleasant odor. I can't quite describe it, but its in the chemical, plastic, something slightly fermented category.

The worst characteristic is the product's stickiness. It does not absorb at all, but just sets on top of the skin. This, of course, gives the skin a nice (temporary) luminous appearance--but sticky. The worst thing is to wear it at bedtime. My skin stuck to the sheets! Seriously uncomfortable, especially in the summer. Finally I decided to give up on Amlactin after some uncomfortable nights when I had to get up and wash the stuff off in the middle of the night so that I could sleep.

I will not buy this product or its line again. It's really too bad-I had been so hopeful after reading the reviews.

I love everything about this lotion except the smell. The AHAs really help with smoothing the skin. My solution to the scent problem is to mix it half and half with Desert Essence coconut lotion, which I find a little strong at full strength. Problem solved!

Great as a once a day moisturizer on face, arms, legs, and feet. Great an extra 5 times a day after having hands in water because it absorbs quickly and lets you get back to work.

My dermatologist recommended AmLactin for my very dry, sensitive skin. I use it on both my face and body, and it works really well. There is nothing "not so great" about it, unless you're looking for fragrance. AmLactin is fragrance-free for those of us with sensitive skin.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

Used this product years ago when it was only available as a prescription -- worked great on the keratosis pilaris on my arms. Now my little girl (4) has the same skin condition, and the product works wonderfully on her. This is intense moisture, so it does leave your skin feeling slightly sticky, but I have gotten used to that. It's worth the healing properties. Interesting that this is also constrained for dry, cracked heels. Will have to try that usage.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

I started Amlactin after seeing other reviews. I suffer from KP and this really seems to exfoliate my skin and fade the left over red spots that would usually take so long to vanish. I definitely recommend this product. It is the only thing that worked on my very dry and cracked heels amazingly!

I had extremely dry/ cracked feet, having to use bandaids from the cracks most of the time, it hurt to walk. I started applying this 2 times a day and withing a couple weeks, they are healed. After years of suffering I feel I found a miracle!!! I still apply at least one time a day to keep them soft. Thanks!!! Worth the price!!
A little goes a long way when applying.
