This product was recommended to me by my dermatologist years ago for the little bumps I get on the outer part of my upper arms and sometimes on the outer part of my thighs. I tried it shortly after she recommended it and in a few weeks the bumps were gone and sometime after that, I don't recall how long, the red scar like marks they leave behind were also gone. After all these years I'm still using it as a preventative and my arms are smooth and clear. I only apply it to the areas it's needed so it lasts quite awhile. It does not have a great smell so after it dries thoroughly I apply my regular lotion as usual. I've recommended this to countless people, including my cosmetologist and she now recommends it too!!

I purchased Amlactin to treat those little red bumps. I'd used other unrelated products in the past successfully for this purpose (so I know it's possible to get rid of them). I used about 80% of the bottle over about 2+ months before I gave up on it. From my perspective, it was a bad 2 months.

Amlactin has a subtle but distinctly unpleasant odor. I can't quite describe it, but its in the chemical, plastic, something slightly fermented category.

The worst characteristic is the product's stickiness. It does not absorb at all, but just sets on top of the skin. This, of course, gives the skin a nice (temporary) luminous appearance--but sticky. The worst thing is to wear it at bedtime. My skin stuck to the sheets! Seriously uncomfortable, especially in the summer. Finally I decided to give up on Amlactin after some uncomfortable nights when I had to get up and wash the stuff off in the middle of the night so that I could sleep.

I will not buy this product or its line again. It's really too bad-I had been so hopeful after reading the reviews.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

Aside from the smell, this stuff is great. It works great on KP (keratosis pilaris), otherwise known as those little red bumps on the back of your arms, or in my case, thighs. This really smooths my skin out...but like the other user said...if I stop using it, they come back in a few weeks. Great product, just wished it smelled a bit better.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

Along with LacHydrin 12, this is the best moisturizer I have ever used. My skin is hydrated, even toned and exceptionally soft. My stretch marks are less visible and the skin on my knees, elbows and buttocks is no longer dark, rough and discolored. My skin just glows. For someone who grew up with ugly dry skin, I now get non-stop compliments. This is a fabulous product, especially for ethnic skin. The cream version is even better.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

This is the only product that has worked for the KP on my arms and thighs. With consistent use, the little red bumps disappeared. I've had this condition since childhood and Amlactin is the only product that has worked for me. I'm really happy that finally, I, too, could have smooth skin on my arms. Although, once stopped, the bumps will return.

I have really dry skin throughout the year, and have tried many, many different brands of lotion and this one didn't work for me. I had to keep reapplying.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

This is great lotion. Took care of the little red bumps on my arms in about a week. Much less greasy than the Eucerin I was using, and much more affordable than the KP Duty lotion made specially for keratosis pilaris. Highly recommend!

The other lotions are worthless compared to this one. Great for my xerosis, medical term for dry skin. I wish it came scented though, and I wish it came in a heavier cream for when I want that feel.

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

I have Ichthyosis and previously only had LacHydrin available for treatment. AmLactin now being available has saved me a lot of time and money not filling prescriptions. I love it! If you want to use it for a body lotion I suggest just adding a quarter size amount of your favorite scented lotion to mask the scent (or actually the lack of).

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

I have had a problem with severely dry skin during the winter for many years. The skin on my hands, feet, and legs cracks, bleeds -- and looks and feels terrible. Previously, while in the hospital I was prescribed some type of Eucerin, which did not help. I tried all kinds of lotions and treatments with minimal relief. Just a couple of weeks ago, my current physician saw my hands and recommended I try AmLactin. Within 3 days, I saw a huge difference. My hands, feet, arms, and legs feel so much better. The deep cracks have closed up and are healing. I have extremely sensitive skin, and this does not give me hives. It doesn't seem to be perfumed, so it would be fine for a man or a woman. I wish I'd have found this long ago!

Comments about AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion, 7.9 oz:

This is the most amazing moisturizer for feet and elbows. I would always have cracked, dry skin on my heels and soles, but this keeps them soft and supple. It isn't a luxury cream, and it doesn't smell good but it really does the job.
