Comments about Andis Gold Press Comb, 1 ea:

Flat irons made my ends ragged. Pressing combs that you put on the flame, burned my hair out. This is a cross between the two and it works perfectly on my hair. It does an excellent straightening job in very little time, and does not snag my hair, and also conditions it. The on/off switch on the comb does get in the way on occassion during styling, but if you flip it back, it retains its heat without the wait. Once you're used to using it, that shouldn't be a problem. I purchased a 2nd one just to have a back up. I will never use a flat iron again.

Comments about Andis Gold Press Comb, 1 ea:

I came up on the pressing comb you put in the fire. My daughter is a professional stylist and uses flat irons religiously in her business. She encouraged me to stop pressing my hair and use the flat iron, but the more I tried different ones, the more they pulled my hair out and caused my ends to become very ragged. I liked the convenience of the electric flatiron, but the results of the pressing comb. Now I have that in Andis' Electric Press Comb. It gives a smooth finish, and also conditions my hair like the flat irons were said to do, but without the frazzled ends. I am very pleased with this product. I have natural and long African American hair, and whereas it took 45 minutes with the flat iron, this comb cuts that time in half and does a better straightening job. The product works best on natural or wavy hair. If you do not use chemicals in your hair (relaxers, etc.) as I do not, it is best to use a good holding spray like Tresemme or John Freida that has no water, to assist against humidity in the warmer months. I am purchasing another of these press combs as a back up, and donating all my flat irons to my daughter's business.

Comments about Andis Gold Press Comb, 1 ea:

First off I am growing out my relaxer. I am transitioning to natural with heat and currently 2 months post. I am lazy and I hate having to part my hair into tiny parts to get the flat iron to the root and I wanted something to get my edges better. I read a few reviews on different pressing and edge combs and decided on this one. OMG this thing gets super hot and holds even heat great!!! It actually heats up to 450 degress and has 20 heat settings. Many reviewers said they used it on 10 but that was wayyyyy to hot for me. I used it on "1" to do my roots and it worked great. I even tried on my son who is 100% natural and "1" was enough to straigten his hair although I would probably have to go to "5" for silky straight on his hair. I do not understand how some reviewers said it was a bad pressing comb after it didn't straighten their hair on a setting of 20?! Be advised using a pressing comb does involve technique. This is a must have for any natural who prefers to straighten. FYI--I am 3b/3/c fine, coarse in the crown; my son is 3b/3c coarse and super thick
