Chemical Name: MECLIZINE (MEK-li-zeen)

Common uses for Antivert
Antivert 12.5mg is an antihistamine used to treat and prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before using Antivert
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Antivert 12.5mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE ANTIVERT 12.5mg if you are also taking sodium oxybate. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including lung or breathing problems (such as asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema); shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; recent surgery; stomach, bowel, or bladder blockage; prostate problems (such as enlarged prostate); difficulty urinating; glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye; allergies; pregnancy; or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Antivert 12.5mg.

Directions for Antivert
Follow the directions for using Antivert 12.5mg provided by your doctor. IF YOU ARE TAKING ANTIVERT 12.5mg TO PREVENT MOTION SICKNESS: take it at least 1 hour before you travel. STORE ANTIVERT 12.5mg at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF ANTIVERT 12.5mg and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions for Antivert
DO NOT TAKE ANTIVERT 12.5mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Antivert 12.5mg for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Antivert 12.5mg. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using Antivert 12.5mg. ANTIVERT 12.5mg WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants (such as sleep aids and tranquilizers). Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. Antivert 12.5mg may cause drowsiness or blurred vision. DO NOT DRIVE, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Antivert 12.5mg. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Antivert 12.5mg during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF ANTIVERT 12.5mg IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Antivert 12.5mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Antivert
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Antivert 12.5mg include drowsiness or dry mouth. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Antivert 12.5mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your healthcare provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. If you take too much Antivert
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual excitability, drowsiness, hallucinations, very slow or shallow breathing, and seizures.
