My son is 2 years old and has a Broviac Catheter. We use this nightly for bathtime and overall it works great. The placement is on his chest so that makes it easier to apply (we use 7x7 size). You do have to make sure they are not sweaty before you apply and we give quick baths - but most of the time (95%) it works great. Just so happy my son can take baths just like his sister even though he has the catheter (and we only do once a week bandage changes!).

This product is MUCH easier to use for covering a surgical wound to keep it dry for showering than plastic wrap and tape. However, it often leaks because the adhesive doesn't stick well enough, especially in areas where any flexibility is required. And then in some areas, the adhesive sticks so well that it is painful to remove! I also noticed that over time, my skin seemed to develop a resistance to the adhesive, so that it would become unstuck, and the entire thing would pretty much just fall off.

Best Uses

Easy to apply and a good size. However, did not stick well around my chest / breasts. It is still helpful to use, but does not really keep the bandage underneath completely dry.

Comments about Aqua Guard Moisture Barrier, Latex Free, 7 X 7, 5 ea:

The 7x7 size gives me freedom in the shower. It protects the chemo port I have on my chest from getting wet. I was getting the same protection using a plastic sheet and tape. It is faster and convenient to use Aqua Guard, but more expensive.

The hospital sent me home without enough replacement bandages. Large moisture barrier dressings like this are expensive, and hard to find. I lucked onto these at Drugstore.com and they are a perfect fit for what I need.

I have a cathetar on my left chest for dialysis. I love this product so much I can't believe. In the past, I wasn't able to shower because of cathetars, and post surgery, but now I can use this, and have a hot shower. I love this product very much...

AquaGuard Moisture Barrier, Latex Free, 7 X 7

                 – For many people, showering is an activity that can be taken for granted. For others, additional care must be taken to ensure that showering does not cause medical complications. AquaGuard Moisture Barrier is designed to help individuals protect vascular access sites, dressings, and surgical incisions that cannot be exposed to water. As waterborne bacteria can cause harmful infections, it is crucial that you have a barrier that you can trust.

                Reliable Protection

AquaGuard Moisture Barrier products are widely trusted by healthcare professionals. Many hospitals rely on AquaGuard products when caring for patients, allowing you to feel confident about the quality and reliability of each product. The AquaGuard product line is made at an FDA-registered facility in the United States, ensuring the highest levels of quality and product safety. As they are highly trusted by professionals, you’ll know you’re getting the protection you need when showering in the comfort of your own home.

                Comfortable and Safe

No matter what your need for a protective barrier may be, showering does not need to be a stressful activity. AquaGuard offers a wide range of products, allowing you to customize your product choice to suit your unique needs. This 7x7 AquaGuard Moisture Barrier can help you to keep the important areas dry and safe during your bathing process. Whether you wash by sponge bath or shower, this product can help to keep waterborne bacteria away from vulnerable areas of the skin. If you have skin that is sensitive to latex, rest assured that this AquaGuard Moisture Barrier is made without latex.

                Easy Application

AquaGuard products are simple to apply to the skin. Simply remove the adhesive backing and stick the AquaGuard barrier to your skin's surface, covering the affected area. Professionals recommend that you use a barrier that is larger than the area or dressing that needs to be covered, ensuring that it is fully protected.
