We tried everything before this... A&D, bodreax's, desitin, balmex and nothing really helped. In fact she started crying every time we changed her saying "OWWWIE" and "IT HURT" we actually got the aquaphor as a last resort. I think it just basically helped to protect the skin from each BM. But within a day or two it began to look better. It probably did help that the infection started to clear up but this did not seem to burn or cause her to scream like the other products. All in all I'd reccomend it if you have used something else that does not seem to be working. VS Most Liked Negative Review Made Eczema Worse... My 7 month old daughter suffers from eczema. My pediatrician reccommends applying the Aquophor head to toe with every diaper change. Not only does my daughter scream when I put it on her (but doesn't mind other creams) it hasn't helped the eczema and she often has a flare-up soon after. I have found the most success with pure shea butter and the California Baby aloe cream. Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment, 3 oz: My child is prone to eczema and chapped skin on her cheeks, particularly when she has a cold. This is the only thing that works -- and it works quickly. Generally we see a big improvement with one application. Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment, 3 oz: I combine the entire tube of Aquaphor with 2 tablespoons of Mylanta. Mix into a paste and use on diaper rash. Works like a charm!! Better than all the other diaper rash creams. Put on especially at night so it can sit on the rash all night. Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment, 3 oz: Aquaphor is simply amazing. I buy the baby version because I like the bottle more than the regular one for some reason, but it's the exact same stuff. It was recommended to me by a dermatologist before I started using Accutane, which really dried out my skin and especially my lips. Aquaphor was the only thing that helped and I put it on every night. I still continue to use it most nights in the winter, or whenever my lips feel dry or chapped. Unlike chapsticks and balms, which only temporarily moisturize, Aquaphor is a true "healing" ointment and will heal even themost dried-out, chapped lips. It really is the best! Cons Best Uses
Comments about Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment, 3 oz: I really can't tell the difference between this and vaseline but it seems to work just as well. My toddler has eczema on her arms so I reapply 2-3 times a day. It doesn't help with the itching but it seals in moisture. The flip cap can be difficult to open especially if your hands are already greasy from applying so I close the top without snapping it...hoping my toddler doesn't squeeze it. [...] carries vaseline in a screw top tube which I also use as diaper ointment. For the reasonable price and extra healing claim, I'd recommend Aquaphor but I'll still use vaseline too. On another note, why do they make baby products with sharp pointed edges? Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful?
