I liked it better than petroleum jelly and will use it on my hands and feet at bedtime in the winter. Does soften the skin, but is too greasy to use all the time.

This is the ONE of two moisturizers that are going to become your best friends if you are on Retin - A micro. If your skin gets chapped crusted or cracked you need to stop retin -a for a few days use this ointment 3 - 4x a day washing face only at night until your skin returns to normal. I was receiving chemo therapy at NIH and an effect of my treatment caused my feet and legs to swell. Swell so badly they cracked and blisters formed on the outside of my skin. The blisters subsequently burst, leaving 2"-3" raw patches. The wound specialists used this product every day on these sores for about 2-3 weeks, and the raw patches healed completely. I will NEVER be without this product in my medicine cabinet.

My skin doctor put me on this product after I developed some sort of skin dryness and spotting on my lower legs.

I was really disgusted with the product at first--it so reminded me of Vasaline--which I could never stand at all...but you know I have been using this for many months now and it has helped my very serious skin problem along with a medical cream that I had to use.

Truth be told --Prior to this --I was using some og the BEST lotions available and I tried them so I know of what I say. This out did them all on my serious skin issue ! It is the Best.
Now I would tell you that if you are having a dry condition try this and you won't be disapointed because it works.

I cannot use it at bed time because it is quite heavy and greasy initially. I apply it when I first wake up before I get out of bed...and re-apply during the time I am awake if needed.

You also might want to find a small flat knife or wood spade to get it out of the jar as it is very thick and will get under your nails.

I live in desert and its great all year round for dry skin. I use after each shower/bath in winter and ocassionally in summer if skin becomes dry from hot weather. I would like for it to be thinner but it does absorb well and if not I wipe off with damp towel. It could be that I apply too much but i love the feel of it and really good for feet/heels. Softhen hands and then cover with gloves or socks.

I used this product for dry skin and eczema. This product works well on dry skin and helps to soften the skin. I highly recommend Aquaphor Original Ointment for eczema and dry skin management.

i didn't like this product at all. it is super greasy and it didn't absorb well. Plus it wasn't cheap at the time when I bought it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, it's a horrible buy.

My podiatrist gave me some samples and when I applied the ointment on my hands I thought, "YUK..this is greasy! However, in no more than 15 minutes it is absorbed and actually leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. My elbows were in terrible condition because I am in bed allot due to a medical condition. The roughness is gone, the pain is gone and they are smooth again. I apply Aquaphor to my hands, elbows and feet before I go to sleep. Vaseline does not work because it just stays on the top layer of skin. I feel Aquaphor works more as a humectant and it is not expensive considering what it did for me. I tried VERY expensive creams and lotions but NOTHING worked nearly as well. I make sure I never run out of it and keep a bucket of it on my night stand,
