There's a convenient place to write in the date so you know when you have to change the box. When you replace the box, the old baking soda can go in the garbage disposal to freshen it.

Wonderful! Works longer than the 30 days. I just shake it up every now and then to redistribute the soda and it's been going strong for 2 months now, even with cut onions and such in the fridge. It's handling them well!
