Lasts several days if applied directly after shower. Great smell -- studies show that the type of smell in this is pleasing to women... lol. I use it all the time, but find it works better than anything to banish all smell from working out, even if I skip a day of showering. Nothing I ever used works better. Does leave a residue, mostly where there is hair under arm, but it is not too bad. Just don't load so much up on the hair part and youre fine. I wear muscle shirts with this no problem.

Ugh Ugh Ugh. I had no idea that classic Arrid XX had even changed scents until I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. (I'd been working off several I'd stored up). Now I've found this site, and I'm glad to hear that Arrid has gone back to the original scent -- but that doesn't help the fact that I had to throw away the most recent one that I bought. I guess it was one of the "improved" versions, and it's still being carried in some places. Watch out -- open that top and check it before you buy. I used the "improved" version for just one day before I couldn't stand it anymore and tossed it (and I've used this product for over 20 years). So, be careful!!

I hardly ever write reviews on anything, I'm too lazy, but this change prompted my attention. I have been using this deodorant for many years and have been a loyal customer until recently. The company has changed the regular scent to something else. WHY!! What was wrong with it the way it was? I could understand the company releasing a new fragerance under a different scent name, but to change the original? Who in marketing decided to make this decision and what was their reasoning? Apparently it wasn't a very good decision judging from the other responses at multiple websites reviewing this product. Whoever made this sensless change should be beat and then fired. I've never understood why company's do this. Coke did it in the eighties and it sucked. Doesn't anyone ever learn? Sorry, I don't mean to get so bent out of shape over deodorant, but if it isn't broke DON'T FIX IT!!! Bring back the old regular scent and leave it alone!

Well, many of us wrote to Churchill, and who says you can't change things? I also got a package in the mail yesterday with the ORIGINAL scent deodorant inside, and a letter saying they listened and changed the scent back to the original, or classic as it is called now. Good for us!!! I am back to buying this and will for another 20 years!

I recently purchased some Arrid with the new "improved" smell and was as disgusted as everyone else writing reviews here. This is one of the only products that work for me so I wrote them an email. They refunded my money which was nice. That was a couple of months ago. Today I got a package in the mail and it was a trial size of the old formula with a letter saying that they listened to all the complaints and decided to change back to the old scent. You are safe to use it again.

Like the other complaints: WHAT is going on with this new scent? YUCK! I applied it and had to wipe it all right off and I still smell it lingering around me. I really thought the deodorant had gone sour, that I had bought a bum stick or something. It smells like strong, nasty, cheap cologne! I threw it away. Sadly the 2 other sticks I had stocked up on were apparently "new and improved", too. The stench is absolutely disgusting, and I will never buy it again. At one time I would have given this 4 stars. THE CHURCH & DWIGHT COMPANY NEEDS TO FIRE THE PERSON WHO CAME UP WITH THE STUPID IDEA OF CHANGING A DECENT PRODUCT.

I can't believe Arrid changed the scent of the Regular model. The new version smells like stinky incense. It is overly fragrant and it gives me a headache. I will have to begin looking for a new brand immediately. Why change the product Arrid? WHY?

I, too, have used the Arrid XX regular scent for 20 years and just HATE this new scent. I tried to find the old scent but it seems to be gone. I was so angry I wrote to the company, told them they should just fire whoever changed it, and they should have left it alone; there are enough other smells in this product to keep people happy. I returned the 2 I bought and got a refund. I suggest everyone who hates the new smell send a comment to the company. It can be found by looking up Arrid XX, I think the company is Church, et al, and emailing about the new smell. I am not buying this again

one of the few antiperspirants that works for me BUT its one of the worse products in terms of leaving stains/residue on your shirts. i still havent figured out how to clean this stuff off when i do my laundry. it leaves a yellowy, stiff residue on all my shirts.
