 | Are there any alternative therapies for athlete's foot? |
| Athlete's foot is a fungal infection of skin on the soles of the feet and between the toes. Tea tree oil (such as Nourish Skin, Pure Tea Tree Oil) has been used historically to treat various fungal infections, including athlete’s foot. It works as an antiseptic, a substance that stops the growth of fungus and other germs. Tea tree oil may work as well as tolnaftate (an over-the-counter antifungal drug) to reduce the itching and burning of athlete's foot. But tea tree oil does not seem to kill athlete's foot fungus as well as antifungal drugs do. Sources:Mayo Clinic Family Health Book.
