 | What are the side effects of Neurontin? |
|  Neurontin (generic name gabapentin) is a drug that's prescribed for seizures or nerve pain such as after shingles called postherpetic neuralgia (PPH). Doctors also prescribe it for behavior changes, bipolar disorder, pain disorders, or tremors. Most people tolerate this drug well, experiencing few serious side effects. The most common side effects of Neurontin include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, peripheral edema, and problems with balance. They occur less often when you start at a low dose and then gradually increase the amount taken. Also, these side effects may improve with time. You should not drive or operate machinery until you know how you will respond to Neurontin. Less common side effects include stomach upset, headache, rash, and change in vision. Sources:McLean, M.
