After taking a hot bath, I rubbed the cream on my leg. I have been having leg pain a night which keeps me awake--this cream seemed to relieve a good deal of the discomfort allowing me to sleep afterward.

This product works very well for mild to moderate pain. However, if you have severe pain, it does not work quite so well. It will slightly reliever severe pain but not enough to make much of a difference.

I am a person who has Fibromyalgia and I use this product when I have mild to moderate muscle pain. I also use it with arthritis pain. I have Osteoarthritis as well.

That said, the main drawback to this product other than it doesn't completely relieve severe pain is the fact that it takes a while to get it rubbed in all the way, especially if you squeeze a lot out on to your skin.

Interesting (as in really?) previous comments regarding these two products in that both are produced by Chattem/Sanofi Aventis and both contain the same amount of Trolamine Salicylate.

My wife suffers from peripheral neuropathy, a painful condition for which there is no cure at this time, only paliatives. Aspercreme offers some temporary relief from the pain, primarily, I think, as a counter irritant.

Used mostly at night just before retiring. This product relieves the pain associated with one of the ritis brothers (arthur)and provides a degree of comfort that really helps through the night.

I've used Aspercreme for many, many years. I used on my son when he had leg cramps when he was a kid, he's 37 years old now. I personally use it for a variety of things, from low back pains, & I mostly use it for my arthritis pains all over my body, I use Aspercreme because it has no heat involved, & it doesn't burn & with the Aloe Vera it's cools me down.

The reason I bought this was that it was unscented and didn't have an oily texture.

I was suffering from a severe strained neck, and basically nothing would relieve it except for high doses of ibuprofen and tylenol taken repeatedly throughout the day.

All those drugs in my system concerned me. I opted to see if any topical formulations would help so I tried Aspercreme.

This is only good if you have the occasional VERY MILD morning ache out of bed. The pain is gone for an hour, and then you start feeling the pain come back right after. It was effective as putting body lotion on my neck.

A novel idea, but it really doesn't do the trick for me for any kind of pain.
