If you are used to eating low carb, this won't jolt you at all. For newbies, this is like low carb Bisquik. It isn't all that wonderful by itself, and may require some tweaks and additions to make you happy - no sugar flavoring to the pancakes, for example.

That said, it does the job and leaves you with a clean conscience. If you are committed to low carb eating or are diabetic, you choose: Go without breads, pancakes and waffles or accept a different version of them that won't crank your blood sugar? I am happy to go with this.

Also... I like to make the so-called "Impossible Pies" promoted by Bisquik. (These involve mixing your meat/veggies and seasonings with water, eggs and Bisquik and baking, and they essentially make their own crust.) You can use the Atkins mix to replace some of the Bisquik and get a tasty lower carb version. Ditto the Impossible Pie with coconut - delicious and you'd never guess it was low carb.

So my point is, while I don't love this stuff by itself, and am not too fond of, say, the bread itself, it works very nicely in other foods, and is a fine staple to keep on the shelf to make lower carb baking easy.

I didn't like the taste of pancake made by their recipe.
I think you can not expect good taste with only this mix.
Now I use this just 10% of flour for baking low carb bread.
The gulten makes very soft delicious bread!!

I used it because I wanted some pancakes. I didn't really like the taste as I had expected to. However, I would recommend it to someone because of it's nutritional value.

I used this mix as a pizza crust and it was really awful. I can't bring myself to make anything else with it as it was so bad that I threw the pizza away.

We've used the flour for several different items. The taste is fine, muffins were certainly edible. You do have to watch how much a serving is, but when don't you have to? My real gripe comes from the price. At almost $10 for 2 lbs, I can't afford to be buying it that often.

Love this baking mix..Low Carb stuff is hard to find nowadays!
I add fresh blueberrys,cinnamin and some vanilla creamer to the mix and yummy!!!
I make a double batch and than freeze them..
Eat with sugarfree syrup,,

I have tried many different low carb flour substitute products and there is a wide variation between them with regards to taste, texture, etc. This baking mix is one of the better ones on the market although very expensive.

Like most low carb "flours" it doesn't really taste like flour so if you are expecting breads made with it to taste like and have the texture of real bread, you will be disappointed. But that is true of pretty much all low carb breads, especially the homemade ones. This mix comes closer than most and still has an acceptable taste and bread texture. I have found that using it in strongly flavored baked goods (zucchini muffins, chocolate cookies and such) is where it works best. I have tried the Atkins bread recipe and it is acceptable as a bread substitute. I use this mix sparingly because of the cost, though.

If you don't expect what you bake to taste like a version made with regular flour, you will be pleased with it. At least I was.

I was sooooo excited to get this and decided to make homemade bread. I followed the recipe from the Atkins website and the bread LOOKED amazing in the oven and when I set it out on the counter I thought I was about to enjoy a little taste of heaven.

Not so. It was super tough on the outside, spongey on the inside and actually TASTED LIKE A SPONGE, weird chemically taste. Have no idea how this was so bad. I've had low-carb bread before and cannot fathom how a fresh, homemade loaf could be this bad.

I'm honestly afraid to waste my time making anything else because this was so bad. Don't even want to taste test it. Bummer, really wanted to try making cookies :(
