A sample of the shampoo came with one of my Drugstore.com purchases and I'm glad it did. I'm a fan of Giovanni Organic shampoos & conditioners, but will add the Aubrey line as my second choice. What a great sheen and softness this shampoo gave to my hair... and I have the standard "pretty good" baby boomer age hair. After using this product, it's a bit improved (I did use my Giovanni conditioner, too). The scent is light (not sure about how a previous reviewer could be so turned out by such a subtle scent, but that's a personal choice). I, too, am adverse to anything that is too scented, but this shampoo had only a light, nondescript scent. For me, it's not an issue. Another plus is that this shampoo is full of quality, natural ingredients.

I used a sample of this to wash my hair this morning and immediately rewashed it because it dried my hair out. I felt like my hair was straw after using it. Then I spent the next 30 minutes wondering why my neighbor would use such strong perfume that the smell could come down and in through my windows. Suddenly, I realized that the smell was me! Even after rewashing my hair, it still was smelling like heavy, stinky perfume. You know when you are somewhere and you are standing next to someone and you think, "Why would anybody wear that much perfume?" Maybe they washed their hair with this shampoo. I tied up the sample packaging in a trash bag since it was making my house stink and scrubbed my hair and scalp with a washcloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. It is somewhat better but I still haven't gotten rid of the stench. I want to scrub my nasal passages out with a toothbrush at this point. I may have to take another shower before leaving my house to grocery shop. I don't want to be that woman who people think "why is she wearing so much perfume" about.

I do not recommend this product.

i'm a shampoo and conditioner junkie, most anything new i have to try, and i'm most times disappointed. i have very fine thin oily hair, that i keep short and colored. i have used several of the aubrey line and absolutely love this shampoo. keeps my hair clean and fresh and conditioned. and my hair color doesn't fade. the matching conditioner is way to heavy for my hair so i use the egyptian henna conditioner and it's wonderful, the only thing is, it's a leave in conditioner and that leaves me too flat, so i rinse it out. the henna shampoo is great too but it fades my color too quckly.

About three years ago, I had a moderate case of hair loss due to a medical condition. I have stopped using any hair care products except Aubrey. I use the shampoo, B5 Design Gel and the hair spray. My hair has come back unbelievably thick. My hair stylist is amazed. I recommend any and all of their products.

Yes I love Aubrey for its natural ingredients and no use of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate; however, after buying 14 different bottles for my whole family with different hair types (all by Aubrey's organics), thin straight, frizzy coarse, curly, thick, and dandruff, we realized that none of us like the conditioners because they unfortunately don't condition hair as much as we'd like them to, and we all purchased correct shampoos & conditioners based on our hair types. We noticed more hair breakage oiliness and heaviness to our hair. I wish it was different, now we're looking for something else.

I am happy with this product. It does not lather, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I am just used to a product that lathers, but this does get my hair clean and does leave it soft. So I do recommend it. Just understand that you have to use a little bit more product than you would with a lathering shampoo.

This was the second natural hair care product I tried. I was using mud shampoo which did leave my hair soft, but after a couple of days, my hair began to get heavy and too oily. When I tried this shampoo, it made my hair feel really soft and left it that way for several days, which was a surprise. I haven't tried any conditioner, but I sometimes feel when I'm in the shower that I should use some only because it can feel tangly, however, it ends up being very manageable once dried. My only issue is making sure it doesn't get into my eyes. I'd rather have something natural get into my eyes than something synthetic and not good for you. Just my two cents.
