New formula has a couple kinds of alcohol (benzyl & isopropyl) and phenoxyethanol. It's rated a 4-Moderate Risk on Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database. The database has the correct ingredient listing as does the Avalon website. This was my first time trying a more "natural" shaving cream, and I wasn't overly impressed. It was moisturizing and has a nice light scent, but it goes on clear so you can't tell where the razor has already been. It goes on as a thin layer, but protected against cuts better than I thought it would. Had the consistency of a heavy lotion. Overall this was an ok shaving cream, but it's just not worth the high price. Especially since they've added more harmful alcohols & chemicals. I've been changing all my products over to more natural ones, but I think I'll try fragrance free soap for shaving instead. It might be messier, but it's also cheaper & less toxic than this. I cannot get a close shave using this, and it clogs my razor to the point that one use is about all it's good for at the end. I don't recommend against this, I just need something a little thinner that a razor can shave through as well as being able to rinse it out of the razor once I'm done. OTOH, I don't need a moisturizer on my legs after shaving with this. I also have a very small cyst on my shin which is easy to slice open everytime I shave. After reading the reviews of this product, I decided to give it a try. This shaving cream is fantastic as I no longer have all the little cuts and nicks. As for the small cyst on my shin, I just dab a bit more of the cream on top and shave carefully...never slicing! This is a fantastic product that I have used daily for months and will continue to use!! Pros

Well, I can honestly say this is not an improvement but a step backwards. The previous formula was smooth, easy to apply and did not clog the razor. The new "improved formula" is sticky, harder to apply and clogs the razor. I don't know if there is an option to purchase the old formula but Drugstore sent me the newer product which is not even reflected in the online description. I equate this product now to a Gillette shaving cream as for it's lack of spread-ability and closeness of shave. I will no longer be purchasing this product with the new and improved formula.[...] Pros
