My hair ranges from wavy to loose curls, so I only buy SLS-free shampoos to avoid drying it out and causing frizz. Many natural options are gentle but not cleansing enough for washing every other day. This is both cleansing and gentle. Like most natural shampoos, it works best if you wash twice, but it lathers more than most of them so you don't have to work as hard to get your hair clean. Also, it's very gentle; I lose less hair in the shower with this shampoo than any other I've tried. I also like the fact that it doesn't contain parabens or synthetic fragrances. The olive/grape seed smell is okay: not perfumey, very mild, doesn't linger. VS Most Liked Negative Review Not really impressed I had really high hopes for this shampoo. It costs less than most natural shampoos and after seeing a lot of positive reviews I was hopeful that it would take my dry, color damaged, permed hair and make it silky smooth like the CHI products I used to use. The shampoo lathered pretty well for me but after rinsing it out, it left my hair in knots. I didn't mind that since that seems to happen a lot to me so I put in the conditioner and left it in for 5 minutes before washing it out. My hair was STILL in knots and it felt very dry. It didn't feel like the conditioner made anything better, but instead my hair came out worse. Cons Best Uses Comments about Avalon Organics Olive/Grape Seed Moisturizing Shampoo, 11 fl oz: I bought this over a year ago and I used it for about a week. So that's about three washes. It left my hair tangly and really flat. I couldn't run my hands through it and it was dry. I ended up not using it again after that. I recently just used it again and it didn't produce the same results. Although I did only use it once so far, the results are so dramatically different that I thought I should post up a review. The only way this shampoo & accompanying conditioner will work for you is if your hair is completely free of silicones. In the last year, I have completely changed my beauty routine and I don't use anything with silicones or sulfates on my body. I think that's why the shampoo and conditioner works for me right now. I do have to say that it's a little drying compared to what I was using on my hair. But I'm hoping that I won't need to wash my hair as often. It also doesn't really lather unless you use a lot of water or if your hair is really wet. So I suggest lathering in small amounts and applying it parts of the head instead of trying to do it all in one try. I do feel like you don't need that much though. You would definitely need a conditioner afterward though. The price is all right for the product but it isn't so bad since you don't need to use that much. It's hard to find though. I have never seen it in stores and only on drugstore.com. I will be trying out another natural shampoo and conditioner soon. I will be back to update on which one I find is better. Best Uses Comments about Avalon Organics Olive/Grape Seed Moisturizing Shampoo, 11 fl oz: I was so sad when I didn't like this! I love the lotion!!!! My hair felt dry, but my roots were greasy. Plus my scalp itched (which is a problem I already have). I'll be going back to my old shampoo, even though it's full of chemicals =(

Comments about Avalon Organics Olive/Grape Seed Moisturizing Shampoo, 11 fl oz: My Dr. recommended that I use this shampoo because it doesn't contain propylene glycol to which I am allergic. It leave my hair soft, clean and there are no artificial fragrances. I LOVE it!

Cons Best Uses Comments about Avalon Organics Olive/Grape Seed Moisturizing Shampoo, 11 fl oz: I am hooked on this shampoo (as well as the conditioner) for life! It is gentle, but cleans very well. My hair is soft and shiny, and not dry and full of static like it usually is during the winter. I also love that it has no fragrance, and absolutely does not have any aroma at all. I am disappointed to see "Lathers Well" as a pre-programmed pro comment for ANY product. Products lather when they contain a lot of detergents, and lather is totally unnecessary for a product to be effective. Organic products don't lather much because they do not contain chemicals that create it. This shampoo is the BEST!

Comments about Avalon Organics Olive/Grape Seed Moisturizing Shampoo, 11 fl oz: This is a great unscented shampoo, it cleans well and doesn't overdry your hair. I have very thick, curly hair and I find that I need to use a little more of this product than I would have to use of a mainstream shampoo, but that is typical of more natural products.
