From working in the beauty industry and being a product junkie, my skin and scalp have become extremely sensitive over the years. I can't use salon OR traditional haircare products because of the irriating fragrance and preservatives. AND I can't use most natural/organic products because of all the essential oils! I've tried almost every fragrance-free natural and traditional shampoo the past few years. Avalon's is by far the best, both in ingredients and performance.

This is the only shampoo of the many I've used that competely stopped my scalp itchiness. My hair seems fuller. And friends have commented that my hair looks brighter (perhaps due to the chamomile & calendula extracts in this).

My only complaint is that I wish this contained a chelator (EDTA) since my city has slightly hard water. But overall, this is a great product.

it's good, makes my hair more straight and clean than other products. but no smells, and the little foam.

I bought this over a year ago and I used it for about a week. So that's about three washes. It left my hair tangly and really flat. I couldn't run my hands through it and it was dry. I ended up not using it again after that. I recently just used it again and it didn't produce the same results. Although I did only use it once so far, the results are so dramatically different that I thought I should post up a review. The only way this shampoo & accompanying conditioner will work for you is if your hair is completely free of silicones. In the last year, I have completely changed my beauty routine and I don't use anything with silicones or sulfates on my body. I think that's why the shampoo and conditioner works for me right now. I do have to say that it's a little drying compared to what I was using on my hair. But I'm hoping that I won't need to wash my hair as often. It also doesn't really lather unless you use a lot of water or if your hair is really wet. So I suggest lathering in small amounts and applying it parts of the head instead of trying to do it all in one try. I do feel like you don't need that much though. You would definitely need a conditioner afterward though. The price is all right for the product but it isn't so bad since you don't need to use that much. It's hard to find though. I have never seen it in stores and only on drugstore.com. I will be trying out another natural shampoo and conditioner soon. I will be back to update on which one I find is better.

I was so sad when I didn't like this! I love the lotion!!!! My hair felt dry, but my roots were greasy. Plus my scalp itched (which is a problem I already have). I'll be going back to my old shampoo, even though it's full of chemicals =(

I had really high hopes for this shampoo. It costs less than most natural shampoos and after seeing a lot of positive reviews I was hopeful that it would take my dry, color damaged, permed hair and make it silky smooth like the CHI products I used to use. The shampoo lathered pretty well for me but after rinsing it out, it left my hair in knots. I didn't mind that since that seems to happen a lot to me so I put in the conditioner and left it in for 5 minutes before washing it out. My hair was STILL in knots and it felt very dry. It didn't feel like the conditioner made anything better, but instead my hair came out worse.

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with the rest of this stuff. I'm trying to see if I keep using it will my hair adapt to it but I'm pretty sure I'm going to order some different shampoo to see if it'll work better.

I'm sulfate and fragrance sensitive, so this shampoo is wonderful. Gentle, leaves my hair in great condition.

My Dr. recommended that I use this shampoo because it doesn't contain propylene glycol to which I am allergic. It leave my hair soft, clean and there are no artificial fragrances. I LOVE it!
