I used to really like this conditioner (especially because of the smell), but when they recently re-formulated it, it became very very greasy - feels like you are putting a thick hand lotion on your hair, and you have to vigorously rinse not only your hair and hands to get rid of the greasy feel.

This type of volumizing conditioner might not be everybody's cup of tea. It depends on what you're looking for out of a volumizer. There are some volumizing conditioners, like Bumble and Bumble's, that leave a residue on the hair shaft that temporarily plumps it out. Then there are the old school volumizing conditioners, like from the Suave line, that detangle your hair without leaving any residue that might weigh it down. And there are also volumizers with ingredients like glucose that can make your hair float around your head like a halo. Redken used to make one but they discontinued it, woe is me.

Then there's this one by Avalon Organics. What it does is enhance any bend that might naturally occur in your hair. Bendy hair has the illusion of motion and can also create an illusion of fullness if you happen to also have fine textured hair. If you have hair that tends toward frizziness, you might want to steer clear of this one. Also, if you have hair that tends to be oily, this one might be a bit too moisturizing. If you have fine, wavy hair and you're always looking for a product that can boost the bend in it, give this one a try.

A note on the smell: it is very, very herbal. If you like herbal scents, you will like this. I do. I find the rosemary scent of L'Oreal's sulfate free line too masculine, but I like Avalon's take on it. If you don't like herbal scents, though, you are probably not going to like this one.

I have fine hair - certainly not a lush head full of it. I LOVE this conditioner by Avalon Organics. It did not weigh my hair down at all, but made it feel and look much thicker. I would not say this was a conditioner, but more like a cream rinse. If you're looking for a major heavy duty conditioning hair treatment, then this isn't for you. If you need light conditioning (like us fine-haired gals), I think you'll like this one. :)

I usually love Avalon...but not this conditioner. It left my hair oily-looking and limp. I kept trying the product, but it just didn't work out.

I usually love Avalon products but not this one. It left my hair oily and limp - not at all volumizing. I much prefer the Biotin conditioner, currently sold on this site.

I love this conditioner!! It smells wonderful and makes my hair soft and full of body. And it has natural stuff in it, instead of harsh chemicals. Highly Recommended!

This works best for fine, oily hair. I have been using it over a year now and absolutely love it.
