I am allergic to chemical sunscreens, so the Aveeno is recommended by my derm. Kind of hard to find, though. I like this. No sunscreeny smell either. Kind of hard to rub in, leaves a white cast that does go away and it is sweatproof that I appreciated from working outdoors in the garden.

My doctor recommended this for a rash that I get when exposed to the sun. I was delighted to find an alternative to chemical barriers, and this one has worked really well. I like the mild (almost baby-powder) fragrance, and while it can cast a white layer to the skin, I find that fades in a few minutes.

I use this on my daughter who has eczema. I absolutely love how it rubs in. It glides so easily that it makes it a very quick process. She does not break out from it. She's never had a reaction or a burn after using it.

I have loved Aveeno sunscreen for years and had excellent results on myself and my daughter with eczema. I was excited to try a mineral block Aveeno but am disappointed with the results. Every time I have tried it (three times now) my daughters and I have all ended up with pinked/slightly sunburned skin. Even though I am reapplying it as frequently as usual, I keep getting sunburned.
The plus side to this sunscreen is it is easy to spread (though I wonder if it was watered down to make it more spreadable than a regular mineral sunscreen and thereby isn't as potent), is less toxic than regular sunscreens, and is less expensive. Too bad it isn't more effective.

If you have sensitive skin or want better protection than chemical sunscreens provide minerals are your only bet but they do come with their own set of annoyances. I have sensitive skin and can't tolerate chemical sunscreen so minerals are the only option for me.
This product protects well and has a very mild smell. It, like all mineral sunscreens, is a little difficult to rub in and you can get a white cast from it. For me it's worth it even though my skin looks a little odd because I can stay out in the sun so much longer and not worry about sun damage or stinging.
