I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat, but if I knew someone who had skin like mine I'd buy them their first bottle!
The skin on my face is super-sensitive: I have mild rosacea, sometimes get zits AND dry patches, plus am prone to eczema. Even if I just splash water on my face (no soap) I need to moisturise right away, else my face quickly feels like the Sahara desert...
In the past I have tried face creams by Clinique, Olay, Elizabeth Arden, Eucerin* Redness Relief, Chanel, various drugstore brands, Burt's Bees... the list goes on - but although these brands moisturised well, they made my rosacea flare up.
Aveeno Ultra-Calming is the only moisturiser I have found that calms my skin, minimises outbreaks of rosacea and other blemishes. It was recommended by my dermatologist who gave me a sample to try 2.5 years ago.
I've bought this face cream ever since and wouldn't use anything else. With other creams I have to use my Rx steroid cream every week; with Aveeno Ultra-Calming it's more like once a month.
Worth adding that I travel overseas a lot and sometimes am forced to use other face creams. So, I have intermittently used something other than AU-C on my face over the past 2.5 years, and I am always SO GLAD to get back to AU-C, because I know that within a week of my skin will be looking and feeling much better.
Bottom line: this cream not only helps my skin calm down, but keeps it calmer for longer. People generally think I have good skin and am usually shocked when I laugh and say "Oh no I don't!"

The smell is a slightly medicinal floral smell. A bit odd, but it's not unpleasant. If your skin is anything like mine it's nice to have a product that doesn't smell like 'nothing' or full medicinal. Now I just associate it with relief!
The consistency sometimes feels a bit grainy, but it absorbs fairly quickly and evenly.
I do wish it had a higher SPF for my fair skin than SPF15. Other Aveeno face creams have SPF30 but I notice that these others make me break out - I guess that's the SPF ingredient, which is why I think of this as a 'mild' con.
Sometimes the pump doesn't 'inhale' the cream when you have about 1/3 bottle left. Instead of banging the bottle upside down into the palm of your hand to get the cream out, try tapping the (closed) bottle right side up on a hard surface. This seems to distribute the cream more evenly in the bottle so it can get get pulled up again by the pump.
Yeah, I wish it were cheaper, but it's worth every penny. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having super-sensitive skin and having had good luck with the Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer, I wanted to like this and had planned it as a replacement to my Olay Sensitive until the original Olay Sensitive formulation is back on the market in April. Unfortunately I'll keep looking. Simply put, Aveeno Ultra Calming was awful. It burned my sensitive skin going on , and the fragrance is too strong for sensitive skin users. My skin turned bright red, burned and stung, and I had to wash the product off immediately. In fact, with 3 types of alcohol, a chemical sunscreen known to be irritating to sensitive skin, and a prominent fragrance, this product should NOT be labeled for sensitive skin. Had I read the ingredients before purchase instead of just relying on the claims on the label and in the ads, I would never have purchased it. After one use, I gave the rest of the bottle to my sister who fortunately has less sensitive skin than I.
Bottom line: this is a sunscreen intended to be ultra calming. I do not have especially sensitive skin, but I picked this up because of its claim to reduce redness. Every time I've tried to use this this has made my skin sting/burn. I would not recommend this to people who actually have sensitive skin.
I dont know how many bottles of this I have purchased, but its at least 10, because I love it. It reducess redness on my face better than anything I have used. I have to use an additional sunscreeen with this becasue the UVA protection is non-existent. I don't care, I'll continue to repurchase.
My sister lent me this moisturizer about 5 years ago and I have never used anything else since. My skin has always been easily irritable, and it would get red, itchy, and hot out of nowhere. This Aveeno moisturizer is the only thing that has ever soothed my skin and kept it under control. It never made me break out either. I LOVE this moisturizer.
I enjoy using this cream every morning ! I live in California where it is advisable to use a daily sunscreen to prevent sun-induced melanoma and premature aging. SPF 15 seems sufficient for daily use. It is easily absorbed and does not smell bad. Also, it does not feel like sunblock at all and you don't end up with a white layer on your face. I also like the packaging since I don't have to stick my finger into the cream which reduces the risk of contamination.
My husband uses this product because he has very sensitive skin. It has proven to relieve burning and itching for irritated areas of his face. It has also reduced redness and blotchiness. It can be applied easily and is absorbed quickly.
This is a great moisturizer. It moisturizes really well, and it isn't too greasy. Also, I have very acne prone skin, and this doesn't cause me to breakout at all. The smell isn't my favorite, but at least it doesn't smell like sunscreen like so many others. The only thing I'd like would be a higher spf, especially since I live in Florida.
Goes on smoothly after shower. I usually wear under my makeup and it doesn't look cakey. My husband uses it as well and we both have sensitive skin but we haven't had issues with breakouts while using it. It's nice that it is "calming" esspecially since our skin is so sensivtive.
I have really sensitive combination skin and Aveeno works wonders for it. This is the only product that has ever eliminated the redness and itchiness of my skin. I would get red and puffy around my cheeks and forehead and this moisturizer keeps it under control. It doesn't make me break out either. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
