Most shave creams are foams. That means they are mostly air, which does nothing to hydrate your face and soften your beard prior to shaving. But Aveeno is a thick gel... and because of its colloidal oatmeal, it stays thick on your face, instead of turning to foam like the other shave gels. Because it retains that thickness (or viscosity) it does clog your razor somewhat. So I keep an old toothbrush on hand, and gently clean off the razor a couple of times during the shave. It's a tiny bit of a bother, but so worth it. I have tried all the shave creams, and this one is head and shoulders above the others in terms of preventing razor nicks. It is the only one I have found, that enables me to shave without cutting my face... and especially my neck... to pieces. Just try it once, and you'll never go back.

I have used this product for years. However, over the last few months, every can I've bought has given a blast of propellant when I've tried to use it, turning the gel to foam and filling my nose with something really unpleasant (the propellant, I think)! I recently was visiting relatives and found a can I had left there before this started happening. The old can gave out gel, no hissing, no foul smell. They need to go back to their old packer! I have always liked the product but am about to stop using it.
Good shaving product, however if you shave and leave the can in shower like I do, it will rust and cause stains on the fiberglass. Other shaving creams like Edge & Gillette do not.
I had skin irritation from the Noxema Unscented Shave gel so I had to find another shave gel that was unscented & for sensitive skin. This looked promising however the nozzle is crazy, and spewed out product all over my bathroom. I could get over that because I have limited options for sensitive skin products, however it had a SMELL! It is NOT fragrance-free. The smell was something like.... cherries or amaretto? Maybe that is the gas smell everyone is complaining about? I am so sick of products claiming they are fragrance-free when in fact they are not! If it is a gas smell, the company needs to reformulate the bottle.
The only plus is that it did leave my legs smooth, with no irritation. But because of my fragrance allergy I will not use this again.
I use it on my legs and it does give a smooth shave, but they claim it helps with razor bumps and helps to keep from having nicks. I have not found any difference in this from other shave creams. I like the product, but it does not live up to this claim.
It doesn't leave any redness after shaving. Legs feel moist and smooth. Could go without moisturizer. Careful with the spray at high altitudes, like Denver, at least at first.
I seen how good the reviews were for this product, so I tried it for myself, and it gave me the most comfortable shave ive ever had. This may not be the best shaving gel there is, but its got to be the best one for the price.
