I'm 56 and, after several tries over the years, could never tolerate Retin-A or Renova (even when I was in my 30s). Both always caused unacceptable irritation and scaliness and thus never made my skin LOOK better. Ysteal came to the rescue. I can use the Cream every night (I consider this a bedtime treatment) if needed and it keeps lines and any acne at bay, just as Retin-A or Renova promise. Now that I'm older and my skin is dryer, I use the Cream but oilier types may prefer the Emulsion which I've also used in the past. I've just started using Ystheal Eye Contour Care too and so far so good.
I've tried MANY expensive anti-aging products over the years but always come back to Ystheal. I only wish the FDA would approve the sunscreen filter Tinosorb that Avene uses in its European sun care products, which are also excellent (I have to get them from overseas). The one-two punch that Avene Ysteal and sunscreens deliver are the closest thing I've found to the Fountain of Youth. Can you tell I'm a fan???
I get compliments about my "beautiful" skin from women 20 years younger than I am and I must give credit where it's due. Actually, I've found any and all Avene products I've used or sampled to be first-rate. The great pricing compared to so much skin care these days (particularly anti-aging products) is a bonus that makes Avene a tremendous value as well.
Even those without apparently retinoid-sensitive skin like mine may want to give Avene Ystheal a try.

This is not a bad moisturizer. I do like the way it makes my skin smooth and it has a luminizing shine to it that is nice. The bad thing it smells kind of minerally. I would buy this for evening use.
I have very sensitive skin so this is what I use for a Retin-A anti-aging cream, it is very gently but effective. It is not quite as effective as an RX retinoid, so that's why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. I use this cream every other night, and have no negative effects. My skin is less wrinkled and discolored than a couple of years ago when I didn't use it. I also am diligent about sunscreen though, or this cream would only backfire with skin damage.
I'm thrifty, but this is a MUST HAVE moisturizer for me. Helps halt the progression of those furrows between my eyebrows and makes sure that any fine lines around lips and on forehead are stopped dead in their tracks. To save money, I tried other products - bad idea. Started using this again, and won't switch as long as drugstore.com is around!
I have intolerant skin. There are few products I can use. I am unimpressed by most of them. But this product I like! It leaves my face hydrated and soft, without any irritation. My skin looks better than it has for years, and it finally feels comfortable. I hope they never stop making this product. I'd be lost without it.

YSTHEAL+ Cream can be used every day, in the evening. For very sensitive skin, it is best to apply the product every other day at the beginning of the treatment. The Retinaldehyde C.T.®, may stain fabric. If this occurs wash the fabric as soon as possible.
