I usually don't have runny nose but the inside of my nose swells and I do have crust, I started using this on a recommendation from family to try a saline spray/rinse, sounded like a good idea since its fairly natural just basically being a salt water right? I used this while having an ok week in hopes that it would make me feel even better, at first it made me fell amazing, my nose opened up and fealt clean and I could breath! But shortly after I would be hit with some of my worst symptoms and end up in bed. At first I didn't make the connection to this spray because the bad reaction is delayed and at first I feel great. But after it happening to me SO many times I quit spraying it and started putting it on a qtip and cleaning out the inside of my nose, thinking maybe the not to use with congestion warning on the package maybe applied to me, my symptoms still continued so I thought maybe I'm just having bad allergies and there is no relation to this product, until last night! I was feeling good for a few minutes and wanted to go outside in hopes that it might make me feel better, cleaned out my nose with this stuff and within five min later my symptoms got bad. I started googling ways to feel better , as I often do and came across a website saying to be careful with over the counter saline sprays because they often contain benzalkonium chloride which will make allergies worse! Checked this one and sure enough it does contain it. Tried to wet a qtip and clean it out of my nose and that seemed to reactivate the dried nasal sprays smell and really made me dizzy. Allergy really suck as it is, really disappointed that this product maker would put something in an allergy product that makes allergies worse! >:( REVIEWS Reviewed by 33 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Ayr Saline Nasal Mist, 1.69 fl oz: Years ago, I shopped with an elderly friend who looked very specifically for Ayr saline spray. My thought was always "a saline spray is a saline spray"; why pay more for a name brand? I finally tried it after having used generics from big-box stores. I'm not certain if it's the shape of the bottle, but Ayr is just easier to use than the sprays in the typical rounded bottle. It seems like the Ayr delivers more product with less effort. I watch for drugstore.com's sales on it and the price is just right. It's also much easier to fine this small product on a website than looking for it in a large store. Pros

Comments about Ayr Saline Nasal Mist, 1.69 fl oz: I found this applicator messier than most nasal sprays. It seems to have a larger hole in the "nozzle" and sprays too much liquid at once. It is effective and mild to nasal membranes but I just found it too messy for "public use". Pros

Comments about Ayr Saline Nasal Mist, 1.69 fl oz: Effective ..easy to use ...reasonable price range ..relieves congestion and moistens nasal cavity ...can be used as many times as needed ..no medicinal problems that can cause addictive use ... Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Ayr Saline Nasal Mist, 1.69 fl oz: I've used this nasal mist and the gel for years with no adverse reaction, but the spray formulation has been changed. One spray from a new bottle caused a burning sensation in my lungs that lasted for hours. There must be something more here than plain salt and water. I will never use the spray mist again. |
