I don't get all the positive reviews. We usually use Johnson's Baby Lotion and grabbed this instead when we were traveling. I found the scent unpleasantly sharp and urinaceous. Johnson's has a soft, powdery scent, whereas Baby Magic Original Scent reminds me of a cheap scented diaper after it's been peed in. What's more, the texture of the lotion is thin and greasy when compared to Johnson's. It doesn't sink in as well. I didn't even try to use this on my toddler son when I put some on myself and it caused itching. The ingredients and packaging seem cheap to me.

This is one of my all time favorites in lotion. Not sure it would help with extremely dry skin but great for everyday use for normal skin. Love using it on infants and small children.

This is advertised as the original scent, but it is not. Mennen made the original and this has a generic never heard of maker brand. Does not smell like the original, smells like Johnson baby lotion.

An Allergist recommended Baby Magic by Mennen for decades beginning back in the 50's or 60's. We and his other clients used it on sunburn's, many mild skin irritations, chapped skin, etc. as well as babies. It does have a light smell designed for a baby, but, hey, I can live with that since it is the only thing that seems to calm an itchy rash on my face that I have had for the two years prior to my re-finding this product. I went to a dermatologist a year ago. She prescribed some powerful cortisone ointment in a petroleum Vaseline-like base. After a week of getting that slimy shiny ointment on my lips, my eating it, and it still not working to deal with the cause of the itch, I stopped using it. I started doling out the last of my 15-20 year old bottle of Baby Magic by Mennen, and it was working better than the prescription med. So I was hunting for "original" Baby Magic - No hype about aloe added, just Baby Magic. The allergist of years ago said no baby nor adult he had ever encountered reacted to the original Baby Magic by Mennen. He said some people reacted to the Johnson & Johnson baby lotion but not the Mennen version. Then Mennen sold out and the Baby Magic product had other versions added; so I was not sure it would be as hypoallergenic. But I just found this product labeled as the "regular" scent version of Baby Magic. I called the company that now makes Baby Magic. I was told it was supposed to be back to what Mennen originally produced; so I bought it. I am not sure it is the exact same formula as years ago, but it was worth a try. It seems to be working! My rash is subsiding with no more need for cortisone to control the itch! Yea. Cortisone changes the character of the cells; so is not good for long term use. Never heard of Baby Magic doing anything but protecting and promoting healing. I hope the version I found is a great as the original version. Time will tell. No more greasy Vaseline type protectants on my lips! Yea!! And it is a almost as well as the fancy hydrating products targeted for "older" women with "aging" skin and is a whole lot less expensive so I am using it where I was using the expensive stuff. Yea! Yea!

I have used this lotion all my life. It is hands down the best! I am allergic to a lot of scents but this is so mild it doesn't bother me. This lotion is getting harder to find, so I usually but a few bottles when I find it. I am relieved to know that I can get it on-line, because my local stores aren't carrying it anymore. I have tried many lotions, and this is absolutely the best!
