I bought this because my 3yo was getting chewed up by mosquitoes at her preschool. Although DEET and Picaridin were effective, I hated the thought of putting them on her every day. I've been using this on her for about two weeks now, and it seems to help. She still gets the occasional bite but before she would get 4-6/day. In full disclosure, I also use MosquiNo repellent patches on her clothes (same active ingredients as in shoo fly bye) but I think shoo fly gives her good protection during the morning, when the kids eat breakfast outside and it is prime mosquito time. Shoo fly is oily and you can definitely smell it but I don't think it is an unpleasant smell. And it is so worth it to have an alternative to DEET and Picaridin.

Shake well before using. Apply liberally and evenly to exposed skin. For best results reapply every 2-3 hours when outdoors over an extended period of time. Adults should apply on young children by spraying into hands first and applying by hand onto child. Application to face should be made sparingly avoiding eyes and mouth. To help avoid children getting product in their eyes do not apply on children's hands or fingers. This product is recommended for use on areas of exposed skin only and should not be applied in diaper or underarm area.
