There is a Rescue Remedy for pets (dogs, cats, horses, etc.), but it has a black "paw" on the front and states it is for animals and does not have alcohol. This works great for our dogs - especially one who is afraid of thunderstorms. The sites I visited suggested putting a few drops in the dog's water bowl [didn't work with my dog -- he turned up his nose upon smelling something foreign in his otherwise pristine Britta water], or dabbing a couple drops inside the dog's ear. My unscientific conclusion: I think the product helped reduce separation anxiety, although getting my dog to sit still for the in-ear dabs raised its own set of issues. It works for me. I take four drops with a glass of water two or three times a day and it really takes the edge off.

It works quickly and when taken on a routine schedule prevents high anxiety moments from getting the best of you. I was in a stressful industry and I took it three times a day everyday and I managed to keep my wits about me most of the time. Continued use when husband became deathly ill and life was hanging on a thread and I held up like a trooper. Please do not give this formula to your dog that is just wrong. They have a formula especially made for pets. Strong alcohol taste so I would not recommend this for a recovering alcoholic. Pros

We also have used it before a long car ride. After a few minutes she calms right down. One bottle has lasted us about 2 years, we just put a few drops on top of her food or on a treat. It's an easy, affordable solution and we like that it is all-natural. Pros
