Bactroban 2% Cream is an antibacterial used to treat skin infections.
INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
Follow the directions for using Bactroban 2% Cream provided by your doctor. Wash and completely dry the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. The affected area may be covered with gauze or a bandage. WASH YOUR HANDS with soap and water after applying Bactroban 2% Cream, unless your hands are part of the treated area. STORE BACTROBAN 2% CREAM at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF BACTROBAN 2% CREAM, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
IF YOUR SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE within 3 to 5 days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Avoid getting Bactroban 2% Cream in your eyes or inside your mouth. FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF BACTROBAN 2% CREAM IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Bactroban 2% Cream, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
A SIDE EFFECT that may occur while using Bactroban 2% Cream is burning at the application site. If it continues or is bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience rash, severe irritation, or severe itching. An allergic reaction to Bactroban 2% Cream is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur.
