I bought this as a natural alternative to traditional bug sprays and took it with me on my honeymoon to Belize. I wore it the whole time we were there, including on a hike through a rain forest ... and it poured on us half-way through. I didn't have a single bite, but my husband (who didn't think the stuff would work) was covered with bites. I use it now on my baby when we go camping or hang out in the backyard or at the pool. It IS a balm, so be sure to rub it in or it'll be way too greasy and always re-apply after getting really wet. Oh and it lasts forever, just don't leave it in the sun or it melts:)

I've always loved Badger Balm products. I purchased the Anti-Bug Balm for use on my 18 month old daughter. She goes outside every day in our wooded yard and is an adventurous bug catcher. The product works great, no bug bites at all. It smells fantastic- like orangey citronella. It rubs in very quickly with no greasy, wet, or tacky after effect. My only complaint is that the container does not go far. After applying every day for 2 weeks we needed to buy more.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

As I grew up I was told I had "sweet blood - and that was why, even though I have such a bad reaction, the bugs always seem to find me first. I keep this balm in my purse and can rub a bit on my ankles before I walk in grass or if we're sitting outside and it gets to be dusk and I GET NO BUG BITES. None.
Because the balm is in a tin I can have it with me all the time which is super convenient. Of course it is a balm so you have to actually rub it in rather than spray and it does have a little greasiness, nothing earth shattering, but be prepared. It also has a scent - an herb-y, citrusy scent - so if you are putting this on in a confined space like a car, people will smell it.
I am very happy with this product and drugstore's price is pretty reasonable compared to the other stores in town.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I used this on a month-long field course in the Costa Rican rainforest. Everybody else on the course either smelled like pungent chemicals, or were being eaten alive. I applied only a little bit, and got compliments on my smell every day, despite the fact that showers were few and far between! Not a bite to be seen as well!

    Highly recommended!

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I use Badger Bug Balm daily on the prominent parts of my face, e.g., nose, cheek bones, forehead, chin to keep away the gnats that plague us in Virginia. It lasts all day, even after I return from my five mile walk in the woods or through the National Park I work in. I refuse to use any product containing environmentally harmful products and these natural ingredients work just as well. I haven't been bitten all summer and the gnats generally stay away from my face. Only drawback is the sometimes difficult to open container.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I live in a remote village in the Alaskan interier. It is wooded, muddy and damp. The mosquitos are aggresivie. I use Badger Bug Balm and it keeps the Mosqitoes away. I use it on my skin daily, it is all natural and safe to use every day, It provides protection as I go about my day. It is a little greasy, but not bad, the smell is of citrenella a little strong but not bad. It is safe for children also.. I even use it on my dogs and it helps keep the mosquitos off of them. I put it on their heads, and ears.

When I will be going out in the woods or muskeg I add a mosquito net over my head and wear clothes treared with bug repelant.. I am impressed at how effective Badger Bug Balm is against these extremly aggrasive pests.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

this is a must have for our saddle bags. I like it better than traditional equine bug stuff around my horses eyes since its non toxic. as the horse sweats, traditional "goos" will melt and run

at least this one, as it melts, doesnt seem to sting. it doesnt last as long (ie not as sweat proof) as the more traditional toxic ones, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to take. the tin is small and waterprrof so its easy enough to bring along and reapply at our lunch break.

it definately keeps flys and gnats out of my horses eyes, making for a quieter ride. it even smells nice (iof you dont mind the nice herbally citronella smell, which I like :))

highly recommended! and hard to find in stores, so I'm delighted to see that drugstore.com carries it. hooray!!
