I bought this as a natural alternative to traditional bug sprays and took it with me on my honeymoon to Belize. I wore it the whole time we were there, including on a hike through a rain forest ... and it poured on us half-way through. I didn't have a single bite, but my husband (who didn't think the stuff would work) was covered with bites. I use it now on my baby when we go camping or hang out in the backyard or at the pool. It IS a balm, so be sure to rub it in or it'll be way too greasy and always re-apply after getting really wet. Oh and it lasts forever, just don't leave it in the sun or it melts:)

I've always loved Badger Balm products. I purchased the Anti-Bug Balm for use on my 18 month old daughter. She goes outside every day in our wooded yard and is an adventurous bug catcher. The product works great, no bug bites at all. It smells fantastic- like orangey citronella. It rubs in very quickly with no greasy, wet, or tacky after effect. My only complaint is that the container does not go far. After applying every day for 2 weeks we needed to buy more.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I use Badger Bug Balm daily on the prominent parts of my face, e.g., nose, cheek bones, forehead, chin to keep away the gnats that plague us in Virginia. It lasts all day, even after I return from my five mile walk in the woods or through the National Park I work in. I refuse to use any product containing environmentally harmful products and these natural ingredients work just as well. I haven't been bitten all summer and the gnats generally stay away from my face. Only drawback is the sometimes difficult to open container.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I live in a remote village in the Alaskan interier. It is wooded, muddy and damp. The mosquitos are aggresivie. I use Badger Bug Balm and it keeps the Mosqitoes away. I use it on my skin daily, it is all natural and safe to use every day, It provides protection as I go about my day. It is a little greasy, but not bad, the smell is of citrenella a little strong but not bad. It is safe for children also.. I even use it on my dogs and it helps keep the mosquitos off of them. I put it on their heads, and ears.

When I will be going out in the woods or muskeg I add a mosquito net over my head and wear clothes treared with bug repelant.. I am impressed at how effective Badger Bug Balm is against these extremly aggrasive pests.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

this is a must have for our saddle bags. I like it better than traditional equine bug stuff around my horses eyes since its non toxic. as the horse sweats, traditional "goos" will melt and run

at least this one, as it melts, doesnt seem to sting. it doesnt last as long (ie not as sweat proof) as the more traditional toxic ones, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to take. the tin is small and waterprrof so its easy enough to bring along and reapply at our lunch break.

it definately keeps flys and gnats out of my horses eyes, making for a quieter ride. it even smells nice (iof you dont mind the nice herbally citronella smell, which I like :))

highly recommended! and hard to find in stores, so I'm delighted to see that drugstore.com carries it. hooray!!

This repellent is somewhat effective but putting it on is a mess. So thick and greasy. I won't put it on unless I know a shower is coming up soon.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

This product is awful! If you can get past the overwhelming smell of Citronella to use it, you'll find that it's very greasy and isn't effective in repelling anything except human beings. I tried this in my garden to test it out for a trip to Honduras and found that it actually attracted bees and didn't stop the mosquitoes from coming after me; and had to throw it out. If you're looking for an all-natural, effective bug repellent try Extreme Buzz Away...it works better than anything I've tried and it smells great too!

            Badger Anti-Bug Balm

             – Nothing ruins a fun day outside as quickly as the prospect of being bothered by mosquitos and other bugs. While you can easily find a variety of bug repellants, many of these products contain chemicals that you may not want to use on a regular basis. Badger Anti-Bug Balm sets itself apart with a unique organic formula that may help repel mosquitos, gnats, flies, and other annoying insects. Use this product to keep pests away, and you can go back to enjoying the outdoors.

Keep Pests Away with Badger Anti-Bug Balm

A number of natural ingredients have been trusted by people around the world for years to help repel mosquitos and other pests. Badger Anti-Bug Balm uses a unique combination of organic citronella, lemongrass, cedar, and essential oils to help naturally keep insects away without the use of chemicals like DEET and petrolatum. Simply apply this balm to any exposed areas of skin when you're outside, and the scents from these ingredients may help keep bugs from coming near you.

            Badger Company History

Home contractor Bill Whyte first came up with the idea for manufacturing natural skin care products when he and the men on his team developed terribly cracked hands on their job sites during the harsh winter. With some prompting from his wife, Whyte experimented with mixing a few ingredients together and made a balm that helped moisturize and heal his hands. Deciding to turn his discovery into a business, Whyte founded Badger in 1995. After years of being packaged by hand, Badger recently expanded enough to introduce automation to its manufacturing line as it began releasing a wide selection of new products. The Badger manufacturing facility was certified organic by the USDA in 2008, and all of its skin care products are made from food-grade materials. Badger products use a combination of essential oils, vitamins, minerals, and aromatherapy to get the job done.
