I bought this as a natural alternative to traditional bug sprays and took it with me on my honeymoon to Belize. I wore it the whole time we were there, including on a hike through a rain forest ... and it poured on us half-way through. I didn't have a single bite, but my husband (who didn't think the stuff would work) was covered with bites. I use it now on my baby when we go camping or hang out in the backyard or at the pool. It IS a balm, so be sure to rub it in or it'll be way too greasy and always re-apply after getting really wet. Oh and it lasts forever, just don't leave it in the sun or it melts:)

I've always loved Badger Balm products. I purchased the Anti-Bug Balm for use on my 18 month old daughter. She goes outside every day in our wooded yard and is an adventurous bug catcher. The product works great, no bug bites at all. It smells fantastic- like orangey citronella. It rubs in very quickly with no greasy, wet, or tacky after effect. My only complaint is that the container does not go far. After applying every day for 2 weeks we needed to buy more.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I had high hopes for this non toxic product and applied it liberally for our first camping trip of the season in spring. We camped in Wisconsin after heavy rains. Unfortunately, the mosquitos feasted on me. I tried it a few times after at home in Chicago but it seems to have no effect. I am sad to say I've given up and stick with the little personal fan on my belt that blows out bug repellent. That always works for me.

I use this product at night when sleeping. It prevents bug bites (I leave my window open) and keeps mosquitos from biting also. I'm not particularly thrilled with the fragrance, but it's not bad. And what's more important is that it works!

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

As the one person that the mosquitoes flock to, I'm thrilled that this product keeps them away. It takes a little while to apply since it's a balm, but I recently used it in the late afternoon and never reapplied during an outdoor party that lasted until 10pm. No bites. No kidding.

This product worked and is good to travel with since it's not a liquid. Best way to apply is to scrape the balm with the back of your fingernails, place it where you want and then rub in.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

This stuff really works and to top it...the ingredients are organic. I do not like using products with toxic chemicals or un-natural ingredients in general. I was so relieved to find this product on drugstore.com. I apply it to my skin right before I go outside (I live in a wooded area in the country). Usually the mosquitoes and noseeums go to town on me, leaving me with bites all over. Since I started using Badger Bug Balm, I have been bite free :)

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

This is extremely effective. I can walk through the countryside buzzing with the critters and they will not touch me. And I don't have to worry about dangerous toxins or carcinogens. But I can't use it on my face; it's an eye irritant. And it has to be applied with tissues, otherwise it's all over your hands.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

As I grew up I was told I had "sweet blood - and that was why, even though I have such a bad reaction, the bugs always seem to find me first. I keep this balm in my purse and can rub a bit on my ankles before I walk in grass or if we're sitting outside and it gets to be dusk and I GET NO BUG BITES. None.
Because the balm is in a tin I can have it with me all the time which is super convenient. Of course it is a balm so you have to actually rub it in rather than spray and it does have a little greasiness, nothing earth shattering, but be prepared. It also has a scent - an herb-y, citrusy scent - so if you are putting this on in a confined space like a car, people will smell it.
I am very happy with this product and drugstore's price is pretty reasonable compared to the other stores in town.

Comments about Badger Anti-Bug Balm, 2 oz:

I used this on a month-long field course in the Costa Rican rainforest. Everybody else on the course either smelled like pungent chemicals, or were being eaten alive. I applied only a little bit, and got compliments on my smell every day, despite the fact that showers were few and far between! Not a bite to be seen as well!

              Highly recommended!

              Badger Anti-Bug Balm

               – Nothing ruins a fun day outside as quickly as the prospect of being bothered by mosquitos and other bugs. While you can easily find a variety of bug repellants, many of these products contain chemicals that you may not want to use on a regular basis. Badger Anti-Bug Balm sets itself apart with a unique organic formula that may help repel mosquitos, gnats, flies, and other annoying insects. Use this product to keep pests away, and you can go back to enjoying the outdoors.

Keep Pests Away with Badger Anti-Bug Balm

A number of natural ingredients have been trusted by people around the world for years to help repel mosquitos and other pests. Badger Anti-Bug Balm uses a unique combination of organic citronella, lemongrass, cedar, and essential oils to help naturally keep insects away without the use of chemicals like DEET and petrolatum. Simply apply this balm to any exposed areas of skin when you're outside, and the scents from these ingredients may help keep bugs from coming near you.

              Badger Company History

Home contractor Bill Whyte first came up with the idea for manufacturing natural skin care products when he and the men on his team developed terribly cracked hands on their job sites during the harsh winter. With some prompting from his wife, Whyte experimented with mixing a few ingredients together and made a balm that helped moisturize and heal his hands. Deciding to turn his discovery into a business, Whyte founded Badger in 1995. After years of being packaged by hand, Badger recently expanded enough to introduce automation to its manufacturing line as it began releasing a wide selection of new products. The Badger manufacturing facility was certified organic by the USDA in 2008, and all of its skin care products are made from food-grade materials. Badger products use a combination of essential oils, vitamins, minerals, and aromatherapy to get the job done.
