Batiste is one of the original dry shampoo products on the market, and it is still a good value and quality compared with the zillion dry shampoos sold today.
I had used a different product for years on and off, and then found this brand on Drugstore.com and decided to try it. I am more fond of Batiste now, and will go out of my way to order it because it isn't always available locally. It is not as chalky as some other brands, and is comparable in price, if not a bit cheaper, than many. There are some insanely expensive dry shampoos out there, and a few of them give quite wonderful results, but Batiste is great for the money, and for the occasional user uninterested in plonking down $25-30 at a whack.
I prefer this original formula and scent to any of the others of this brand, and there is a way to use dry shampoo that is important to getting the best result. Use short bursts of spray, 6 to 10 inches from the hair, and concentrate on the area it is most useful, around the bangs and part. Sometimes I bend and give one spray to the underside of my hair, just for good measure. Then go do something else for a few minutes. Get another cup of coffee, check your email, whatever. Let the product sit for 5 or 10 minutes before touching your hair again. Then use a good bristle brush and brush vigorously to distribute product. If you've used the correct amount, there shouldn't be a white cast to your hair, but occasionally I find that it has settled into the part of my hair and to fix this, I rub along the part with a tissue, and it disappears.
The scent is okay, nothing special, but it disappears quickly, which is the most important to me. If your hair is very dark, you may prefer a darker tinted product-- on my light brown/dark blond hair, there is no problem. For price per use, you get a bunch of uses out of one container.

I purchased the dry shampoo because I heard so many good things about this brand. I have very oily black hair and have to wash my hair every day. The dry shampoo does absorb oil and refresh my hair after use. However, it leaves too much white cast which I cannot get rid of in any method. I can never go out with the white cast after using it.

In my opinion it's overhyped. Maybe the colored version works better.

Comments about Batiste Dry Shampoo, Original Scent, 6.73 fl oz:

Oh boy! This stuff is really magical. I have super dark, almost black hair. I always use it at night before I sleep so the scent will fade by the time I wake up. In my experience, when using this, it's most important to really shake, spray then RUB RUB RUB your scalp to dissipate the white cast. I usually take a few flash photos with my phone of the back of my head to make sure all the white powder has blended and isn't just sitting on my hair. I LOVE THIS DRY SHAMPOO! It totally removes oil and refreshes your hair. You have to use a lot to really make your hair voluminous though, I have found that when I don't use enough my hair looks super limp. Don't be intimidated by the white stuff. As long as you rub it in well it'll look like fresh, washed hair. I've found that when I use this it also seems to make my hair stay fresh longer. For example, my hair starts getting oily 2 days after I use a regular shower/shampoo to wash it. But after I use this, my hair gets oily a lot later, after 4+ days. With the scents - I've tried Original and Floral & Flirty...Floral & Flirty smells like straight up gardenias...If you've smelled Michael Kors' original perfume, or Kim Kardashian's original perfume, it smells like that...Very strong and kind of unpleasant. Original is more of a strong citrus-y musky smell, I definitely prefer Original over Floral. Another awesome thing about this product, though, is that the smell goes away really fast. PERFECT PRODUCT!!!!!! I'll buy it again and again.

Comments about Batiste Dry Shampoo, Original Scent, 6.73 fl oz:

I have very long hair so washing it daily is not an option. Of all of the (many) dry shampoos I've used, this is my favorite. The smell is nice and I switch up the different scents Batiste offers for variety. It is effective at absorbing oil in between washes. This product will leave a white powder residue on your hair if you apply it heavily...that's what dry shampoo is folks. But I use the palm of my hand to rub it in and the color goes away. I only apply it to the roots, but it does get spread out to the ends with combing, and this causes my hair to tangle. I've never tried it in concert with a detangler though. I imagine this would not be an issue for short to medium length hair.

This dry shampoo works so well for me. It smells great and really gives me an extra 1-2 days without shampooing. I think it works the best for blondes (I would assume) since the powder pretty much disappears after a little bit of fluffing for me. Absorbs the oil nicely and doesn't make my hair frizzy.

I have tried a few types of dry shampoo, but this is the one I keep coming back to. It makes my hair look nice, it smells better than most, and it works well on my straight hair. I have fine enough, oily enough hair that I use this every other day and wash for real the opposite days. It works so well I bought 6!

Comments about Batiste Dry Shampoo, Original Scent, 6.73 fl oz:

I love this dry shampoo - the original scent. The original has a slight scent when you first spray it, but that doesn't last (I HATE scented products). This does spray white - you have to fluff and rub your hair to get it to go in, but I'm a blonde and I like that it comes out white, as it helps hide my dark roots in between highlighting! It also gives my thin straight hair body & volume, and I don't have to wash my hair daily when I use this. I use this while getting ready in the morning, so I don't have on my "work clothes" yet as it does settle on your clothes - but nothing major. My daughter has darker hair and because of the "whiteness" we lift her hair and spray underneath it and then rub with our fingers - before she styles it. I highly recommend it and DRUGSTORE delivers so quickly it's amazing!! LUV Drugstore.com!!
