Indications

Warnings
Aspirin is not appropriate for everyone, so be sure to talk to your doctor before you begin an aspirin regimen.
Reye's syndrome: Children and teenagers should not use this medicine for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness reported to be associated with aspirin. Allergy Warning: Aspirin may cause a severe allergic reaction which may include: hives, asthma (wheezing), facial swelling, shock Alcohol Warning: If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks per day, ask your doctor whether you should take aspirin or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Aspirin may cause stomach bleeding.
Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin or any other pain reliever/fever reducer. Ask a doctor before use if you have bleeding problems, asthma, ulcers, stomach problems (such as heartburn, upset stomach, or stomach pain) that last or come back.

After I had heart surgery four years ago my cardiologist recommended "baby aspirin". Well aspirin is no longer used for babies, but the dosage is appropriate to prevent inflammation in the heart muscle, which aggrevates heart disease. Bayer is easy to take and not irritting to the stomach. So this 69 year old "baby" is doing well.
I normally have very little problem with child-proof bottles, although I intensely dislike them. However, I made a mistake when I bought Bayer with an "easy-grip" cap. I tried and tried and tried and could not get it open. Eventually, I cut the cap off with wire cutters. Now I have a large bottle of aspirin with no cap. This bottle is an example of very bad engineering. I strongly suggest that you avoid this packaging.
Adults and children 12 years and over: take 4 to 8 tablets every 4 hours not to exceed 48 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor.
Children under 12 years: consult a doctor.
