Scissors for Trimming
Keeping your brows at the ideal length keeps them looking their best, but the type of tool that you use will determine what type of results you get from trimming. Ordinary scissors are too large and awkward for the precise snips needed to trim the brows, and nail scissors do not have the right type of tips to make clean, neat cuts. Brow scissors are beauty
tools designed specifically for keeping the brow area at the perfect length. To trim your brows with ease, comb them straight up and then use the brow scissors to trim a small amount from the ends. Comb them back in place and check for length, and then repeat as needed until your brows appear just as you'd like.
Combs and Brushes for Smoothing
Eyebrow brushes and combs are must-have beauty tools and accessories for both men and women. Often, you can purchase a single brow tool with a brush head on one side and a comb head on the other side, allowing you to get the benefit of both tools without having to purchase separate products. The comb side should always be used when trimming and plucking, so that you can see the actual shape of your brows and avoid removing too much hair. The brush side is perfect for smoothing thicker brows and can also be used to distribute control gels and creams through the hairs if you utilize these types of brow cosmetics.
Tweezers for Shaping
To keep your brows shaped, you'll want to invest in a quality pair of tweezers. No other beauty tool allows you to remove individual hairs as precisely or as quickly as tweezers, making them perfect for use on the brow line. For best results pluck out hairs that grow between your brows. Imagine lines going straight up from the center of your nostrils to your brows to help you determine where the inside edge of your brows should be. For the outside corner, imagine a straight line extending from the outside corners of your eyes at a diagonal. As you pluck out hairs with tweezers, stop and comb your brows often, so that you can easily see areas that still may require attention.
Other Brow Tools
There are a number of other specialty brow tools on the market that may be beneficial to you, depending on your needs. Brow stencils can be used as guides for shaping the brows if you have difficulty telling where to place the natural arch. To remove multiple hairs at a time, try using brow cold wax strips, which stick to the brow hairs and yank them out when pulled off of the skin. You can also find razors to help you shape your brows and spoolie wands for applying brow cosmetics. If you have difficulty seeing your brows, consider investing in a magnification mirrors
to make the growth more visible. back to top »
